A`udhoo billahi mina 'sh-Shaytani'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een wa man tabia`ahum bi ihsaanin ila yawmi 'd-deen.

Laa hawla wa la quwatta illa billah.

Dastoor ya Sayyidee wa Mawlay ya Qutb al-Mutasarrif. Madad ya Rijaalallah.

Salam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.

We are now entering the 13th day of Ramadan. May Allah grant us long life to reach many many more Ramadans.

For those new to our association, we are reading from teachings of our Grandshaykh, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, and we try to benefit from his speeches and associations as much as we can. We will continue. Yesterday we talked about our teacher's advice not to harm others and to do our best; not to be something harmful for creation. We said today we will speak about a different topic.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) says in our days, people have become captives of their desires and pleasures: either haraam, forbidden pleasures, or the halaal, permitted desires and pleasures. When Awliyaullah look at us, what do they see? Don't think Awliyaullah look with physical eyes, they look with angelic, malakooti spiritual eyes. When they look at human beings they see people that are drowning in the Ocean of pleasures and desires, either from pleasures of haraam, forbidden, or from the pleasures of halaal, what is permitted.

Today human beings only satisfy our cravings. We crave, but we don't have the means and tools to achieve them. When you don't have money, you cannot satisfy all your inner cravings. The money is the cause for satisfying the cravings. That is why Allah says to give it away, don't let money be the means to satisfy desires. That is why for mu'mins, giving away money reduces those pleasures. It means you can do what you want.

Grandshaykh is saying that human beings are running so fast in business: in work, in home, everywhere, to satisfy halaal and haraam cravings. These are teachings from the gaze of Awliyaullah, as they look with heavenly, spiritual eyes. Muslims are in it because they avoid haraam, but they want to enjoy everything that is possible from the highest quality and the most beautiful halaal things: the best women, the best cars, the best homes, and so forth. They buy Bentleys, Mercedes, Audis, although you say Muslims are not too much into this world!

Non-Muslims dive into haraam, whatever is forbidden. Rich Muslim doctors and lawyers wear expensive designer clothes, which is permissible, but that fulfills inner cravings. A Muslim satisfies his inner cravings with what is permissible: one wife; two wives; change wife because she became an old one; suits; Rolex watches and yachts. That is a bad characteristic of human beings, Grandshaykh is saying.

Because people pursue their inner cravings, it makes problems among families and even nations. What is the problem? They want to satisfy their pleasures and to do that they must chase money. And all of these are what? Awliyaullah see them as obstacles that distract you from being busy with Allah. Therefore, these are considered veils for you from Allah, as whatever makes you busy with other than Allah is dunya.

And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah. (Surat al-Baqara, 2:165)

These are the inner cravings. Grandshaykh speaks from Sirr al-Qur'an, secrets. Those cravings, even if halaal, are veils that distract you from Allah (swt).

He is The One Who created for you whatever is on earth. (Surat al-Baqara, 2:29)

Awliyaullah say: Laa tashtaghil bi maa laka `amma anta lahaa fa tabqaa bilaa huwa. Don’t be busty with what was given to you by the One that created you for Himself, else you will be left without Him.

Allah (swt) says:

I have made you for Me, O Man. (Surat Taha, 20:41)

Allah (swt) is calling to Himself, "Don't be for any other than Me.” Allah swt is calling people to Himself. “I am for no other than you.” I have made you for Me and no one other than Me. So don't be busy with what is around you, or in your hands.

Allah (swt) is calling you to Himself and still we are drowning in that Ocean of inner cravings and desires! Awliyaullah are telling us this. Awliyaullah see what angels have seen. Why did the angels make a big ruckus, complaining to Allah (swt)? They see that human beings will be drowning in the oceans of pleasures and desires and do wrong and be corrupt.

Do you know the story in Surat al-Baqara? Allah said:

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know." (Surat al-Baqara, 2:30)

Awliyaullah see that with the Malakooti, heavenly view and they saw the physical parts of the body, which are the characteristics of animality, as-siffaat al-haywaaniyya, bahimiyya, sabaiyya. Allah swt created us similar to animals—with organs, body, eyes, nose, sking—and also the angels saw the specific things animals do. What do animals do? Whenever they feel like it, they do it. Let us be frank, this is shahwa, they jump on each other whenever they want to. Look at cats, horses, monkeys, donkeys, chickens: they want to satisfy the inner cravings. The angels saw that characteristic of animality within human beings and said, "O Allah, they will do wrong!"

Awliyaullah see that and say, "O human beings! You are drowning in that Pleasure Ocean." What else did the angels see? That humans have characteristics of the predators as-saba`iyya: killing, injuring, hurting, and eating one another, instincts to kill, devour, and shed blood. Therefore, when the angels saw these characteristics of animality inside us—the love of killing, injuring and harming—Awliyaullah came to save us from that.

O Mankind, you have two creations within you: the sufliyy, lower creation, and the heavenly creation. One is the physical being and the other is the spiritual being. Awliyaullah have come to take us from clinging to our physical existence up to the spiritual existence, the rooh, which resembles the angels.

That is Creation from up. Awliyaullah have come to take us from `Alam ash-Shahada, the Apparent World, to al-Ghayb, the Unseen, Heavenly Realm, `Alam al-Malakooot. They want to show you what you have. When they point to us, they are pointing to unseen worlds.

O Mankind! You are sinking in an ocean of desires. The rooh is like the angels and when you are taking yourself up from that physicality you become pure and begin to look with the eyes of malakoot, and eyes of angels. Then you say, "What kind of things do I have inside me?"

You cannot ascend by opening up to the worldly passions, "O I am wearing a miniskirt now." No, that is preventing you from moving towards your Lord. These are all mawani`, hurdles and when we begin to ascend with our shaykh we begin to see the hurdles that are blocking what belongs to Allah swt. Whatever He created for you, leave that and come to Him.

What is Allah's challenge to Humanity? His challenge is this: “I have made all of this for you. However, leave that and choose Me instead.” That is His test to humanity. Choose Mercy Oceans over your pleasure. "Choose Me over cheap stuff." Choose the Lord of heavens over everything else. Can you do that? We are failing miserably in every opportunity we get. Allah swt is saying "choose Me, I have created everything for you but choose Me over that. I have created angels and gold and copper and diamonds. But choose Me instead."

Now when you don't choose Allah swt and you keep choosing what is cheap over what is valuable you bill granted the Eight Paradises. However you have deprived yourself of the best, what is the most valuable and you are still busy with cheap stuff.

The Muslims are involved in a sea of pleasures from what is permitted. If you wanted that then you get it in Akhira. Don't think Allah is mad at you. You chose what you wanted and you will be rewarded in Akhira. That is what you get on the Day of Judgment. Don't think that Allah swt is unjust and that He is mad at you and will throw you to punishment.

innamaa tujzawan maa kuntum ta`maloon.

You will only be recompensed for what you used to do. (Surat at-Tahreem, 66:7)

If you were someone always plotting and killing and harming you will be with that, and if you were someone always into the pleasures of this life, you will get that. But if you were someone whose qasd, goal, was Allah swt, then He will be for you. This is what we, as mureeds of Naqshbandiyya strive for. We leave halaal which is Jannah and we go to Him. We don't want to be involved with others. Allah swt has created Ahl an-Naar, the people of the fire, and with its deeds they are working and doing. He has created Ahlu ’Llah, the People of Allah swt, as the people who are for Him the ones who choose Him and leave everything else.

So look in your heart, which side is most desired to you. Look with your love, and see which is more loveable to you, O human beings? Which is more desirable to you, O human beings? Which is stronger in you, O human beings? Then you know where you are in relationship to Your Lord. This is a test everyone can take by themselves. where does your heart incline? Does it incline to forbidden actions and desires? Or does it incline to the Allah swt? That is your level in front of your Lord. So don't be busy with cheap stuff, be busy with Allah swt. Whoever is busy with that level will reach. Allah says in the verse:

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know." (Surat al-Baqara, 2:30)

So that is the secret inside you O human being. When we want Allah swt and we elevate from the physicality of our being to the spirituality of our being, `alam ar-roohee, we will be moving from `Alam al-Mulk to `Alam al-Malakoot to `Alam ar-Rahamoot and `Alam al-Jabaroot and `Alam al-Laahoot and continue. By following as-sirr al-mutabi`a, the murshid kaamil you will see by the lights of Allah swt the lights of Majesty and Beauty and you will be His Representative, knowing the Unseen and the Seen, al-ghayb wa ’sh-shahaada, by the Light of Allah swt.

By following a murshid kaamil you will be reaching al-Hadarat al-ilahiyya. the Godly Presence. That is what the angels were not equipped for. They said, O our Lord we can reach that station, but they did not know they are not equipped to reach the Hadarat al-ilahiyya. By that you were favored over the angels you were favored to represent Allah swt everywhere, Ha Mim. Haqq, Muhammad. Truth has emerged on earth with what Sayyidina Muhammad (s) has brought but unfortunately we are drowning in the ocean of shahwa. Come out of that ocean and move with the murshid al-kaamil and you will be decorated with the lights of the Divine Truth.

People are asking me about Anwaar al-Haqq and Sirr al-Haqq. Leave that and try to get out of the desires you have drowned in. What can the drowned person see? He cannot see but the darkness of the water around him. get on that life jacket and leave asking about anwaar al-Haqq. slowly you will be dressed with that by the murshid kaamil but first you must get out of that ocean you are drowning in.

All these teachers out there who are speaking left and right--only a few have been given wisdom.

These are the words of Awliyaullah and the words of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and other Awliyaullah. The ones who fight and shout about kufr and shirk, are falling in the fire of animosity and hating and killing. Get out of there, O `alim. Instead come follow the wisdom of grandshaykhs. These are all wisdoms. Insha-Allah tomorrow we can continue from the same page.

May Allah bless those who support this endeavor, especially Meziane who is working hard. Let us get out of these Jahanammi traits. Grandshaykh says, "What does the ego say? It is saying 'hal min mazeed?' Is there more, hal min mazeed? Be truthful, does not your ego say that? When you get $100 what does your ego say? "Is there more?" Look at all the CEOs: when they get $1 billion they still say "is there more?"

What else says "Is there more"? It is Jahannam. It says that whenever people are thrown into it, "Is there more?"

Ego has the characteristics of Jahannam asking more always. Don't follow the ego, it will lead you to the doors of jahannam and you will fall into problems. Today everyone is following that way, the way of fire. Come back to the wisdoms of grandshaykhs and come back to the way of Sayyid al-mursaleena Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

I am talking to you, O Naqshbandis! O Naqshbandis, how many times do you make Khatm al-Khawajagan? O our deputies and representatives? How many times have you recited alam nashrah laka sadrak? Perhaps thousands of times. What does the last verse say? wa ilaa rabbika farghab. "And to Your Lord turn and seek out."

What He has given you use in His Way. Don't get attached to it, and talk about it with your friends and family, fa ammaa bi ni`mati rabbika fa hadith. choose your Lord. We recite it so many times ,we want to be melodious like everybody does but we don't ponder it. wa ila rabbika farghab. "to your Lord desire, and crave." O Muslim you are running after women and clubbing and money and stocks and so many things.

In Ramadan everyone is eager to make Khatm Quran behind the imam. Mashaa Allah Surat al-Baqara and Surah Aali `Imraan they are long but alam nashrah laka sadrak is so short. "Crave and desire your Lord."

Awliyaullah say, bi qadara maa takoonu lee anaa lak. As much as you are for Me I am for you. If I am for you I give you everything and I make you everything. Like Sayyidina Ibrahim (as), who did not even ask for protection from the fire, but it was granted to him.

We see you tomorrow insha-Allah. As-salam 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.
