Awliyaullah are continuously pulling knowledge of what Prophet (s) and angels like. Just now, Shaykh Bahauddin’s suhbah had a very deep understanding. Allah (swt) wants His servant to ascend with Prophet (s), which is why He said, “They come to you, yaa Muhammad (s).” (4:64) Awliyaullah want us to come with Prophet (s), but through them as they are the doors to him.
Alhamdulillah, all around the world, when Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) repeatedly called on Sayyidina Mahdi (a), he planted seeds for his many appearances as knowledge of the Holy Qur’an, to understand its meaning and interpretation. One of these is, wa law annahum izh-zhaalamoo anfusahum jaa’ooka, “They come to you, yaa Muhammad, when they oppress themselves.”
If they had only, when they were unjust (oppressor) to themselves, come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:64)
When you come to someone, it means he is not absent, he is haadir, present. “They come to you, yaa Muhammad,” means Prophet (s) is present, ready to make istighfaar for us. So we come to Prophet (s) through our shuyookh: they take us to Prophet and he takes us to Allah (swt), may Allah forgive us. And what will happen? We come to Prophet (s) and he asks forgiveness for us, and the verse is, jaa’ooka f ’astaghfaroollaaha w ’astaghfara lahumu ‘r-rasoolu, which means he must make istighfaar, and your shaykh must present you to him (s) and make istighfaar on your behalf in order to fulfill the ayah.
When Prophet (s) makes istighfaar on your behalf, at that moment there will be no sin; like in this moment we are coming to Allah (swt) and His Prophet (s), who is ready to take us, and Awliyaullah are ready to petition for us. Then what will happen? La-wajadoo ’Llaaha tawwaaba ‘r-raheema, “They will find Allah (swt) forgiving and most merciful.” It doesn’t stop at that: when oppress yourself by sinning, you come to Prophet (s), he makes istighfaar on your behalf, and then what will you do? La-wajadoo ’Llaah, “They will find Allah.” For sure, anyone who comes to Prophet (s) seeking his istighfaar will find Allah (swt)!
May Allah make this place always blossom from every side, and bless Shaykh Bahauddin and Shaykh Muhammad, and their families, and your families with the best in both dunya and Akhirah!
