(Mawlana speaks with a guest.)
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
The most important thing in Man’s life is for him to try and be a good servant of the Lord of Heavens. The most important point or vision for parents is to take care of their children, for them to grow up as humble servants of the Lord of Heavens. I am sorry to say that today people only try to make their children servants of dunya, to run after it, but they are not taking care for their children to be good servants of the Lord of Heavens, although He is our Creator, from Whom we ask forgiveness and blessing, nothing else! But people are running after dunya to be its servants!
َمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
Wa maa khalaqta 'l-jinna wa 'l-ins illa li-ya`budoon.
I have only created jinn and men that they may serve Me. (azh-Zhariyaat, 51:56)
Allah (swt) said, “ I did not create them for anything other than to be My servants. I dressed them in servanthood as an honor that no one else can reach.” But people are running to reach the imitated honors of this life, not taking care for the honor of the Divinely Presence. This is the reason of the economical crisis, because people are not thinking. I am sorry to say that every country has an education minister, but all of them are sinners because they never teach their children to say, “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.”
Throughout history, the Ottoman Empire was the most honored empire from east to west, with 25 billion square kilometers watched and ruled by one person! Now commoners become rulers, collected from markets, villages, peasants, and laborers. It is important to give everyone their rights. Sometimes rulers swear at their people because they are not applying heavenly education and heavenly training to rule their nations.
( Mawlana advises guests.) Inshaa-Allah, Allah gives you good faith. If you are a good servant dunya will run after you; if you are not a good servant and you change the way of Allah Almighty, you will have to run after your providence. That must be our main target, to be a good servant, as then we will not be deprived here or Hereafter.
(Mawlana sings in Turkish.)
Allah (swt) only asks from us servanthood. He says, “I am Razzaq, [the One] Who gives you your provisions! Don’t think you can stop the sky from sending rain! Therefore, what can you do?”
Once I was in London during a very dry year and people looked at the dried-out trees. Jews made du`a, but there was no answer. The Christians made du`a, but it was not accepted and still it did not rain. Alhamdulillah, two months later the holy month of Ramadan came with its blessing, and millions prayed the du`a for Ramadan, “Oh Allah! Give us from Your endless blessing; first forgive us and then bless us.”
I look at the Arabian people protesting in the streets now and wonder why they are doing that. Don’t they know the masjid is baytullah? Why are they not praying in their mosques, “Oh our Lord! You will never be defeated!” Why do they not go inside the mosque instead of being outside and shouting, “We must change this and that!” Why? Who are you addressing? Why are you not calling to Allah Almighty, “Forgive us, and we are asking for Your blessing!”
Now thousands of people are dying for nothing. Why are they not asking Allah Almighty instead of Shaytan? “Oh our Lord! You will never be defeated; send us from Your heavenly sources.”
So many people ask for marriage and we are making du`a that Allah (swt) grants them marriage. But afterwards their parents come and say, “Our daughter is getting a divorce.” When you ask for marriage, you must ask a lady to be your wife for here and Hereafter. Marriage is not like shoes that you use and when you don’t like them you throw them away! Peoples’ idea of marriage has now changed. Before, they lived a sweet life.
