Always Let Your Door Be Open and Your Table Inviting

Insha-Allah we read from Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani's sohbats.

A`udhu billah mina 'sh-shaytani 'r-rajeem Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Dastoor ya Sayyidee ya Sultan al-Awliya

Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Azeez Allah Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Kareem Allah Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Subhan Allah Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Allah Allah, Sultan Allah

Rabb ighfir warham wa anta khayrul rahimeen hos geldiniz. Welcome. This is not a lecture and this is not a university. Allah took us away from there. we used to be there and we used to talk talk talk. But talk is not important but what is important is to follow Rasoolullah (s) and to follow our Shuyookh who are showing us the right path.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani our master, may Allah bless him and raise him higher and higher, relates that Allah (swt) asked Sayyidina Musa (as) about his nation. wa ma `ajilaka `an qawmika ya moosa. and Sayyidina Musa (as) said, "I left them on my footsteps." That is what he told Allah (swt). So that is more important then? That the Ummah of Habeebullah take lesson from Ummah of Sayyidina Musa (as). So the Ummah of Habeebullah (s) has to be on his traces, his footsteps. If Rasoolullah (s) was Mercy then all of us have to be on his footsteps treading his way and then each of us should be mercy.

O ''big' Muslims! O Saudi, Iraqis, Lebanese, Chechenians, Bengalis and the rest. Are you mercy? Are you mercy to Mankind? If Allah (swt) asked Sayyidina Musa (as) about his nation, and Sayyidina Musa (as) said, "They are treading my way," what then about you O Muslim, who is claiming to be a Muslim following Rasoolullah (s)? Should you not be on his footsteps giving mercy to mankind? So it is a question: are you following or are you just talking? They are just talking, if they were doing they would be mercy to mankind.

How can we know? It is easy to check. One time Sayyidina Abi Dharr (r) made a big feast and invited all the people. and his wife was complaining a bit that it was a lot of work. Sayyidina Abi Dharr said, "The ones who avoided hellfire are the ones who believed in God Most Great and who fed the poor. So we believed then let us do the second part and feed the poor."

So Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani said two things: "Kapasi acik, let your door always be open and your table always be inviting." So if you want to be mercy to mankind then your door is open to everyone. especially His Majesty. Is your door open to everybody? No, there are millions of alarms in his palace. If anyone comes in he goes crazy, there is someone to ask the sultan. there is security and dogs etc.

The Muslim has to have his door open and his table always full of food for everyone. So don't close your door in the face of others and don't cover your food in the presence of others. Rather open your doors and let everyone in. That is why my father said to the President of Indonesia, "Open the palace and feed the poor!" So you start the same thing, O presidents and prime ministers!

But all their worry is to get inside and never to get out. But Sayyidina Musa (as) pulled his hand out to show the noor that Allah gave him when he helped people. May Allah make us follow the footsteps of Rasoolullah (s). So the first thing you must be is mercy for mankind and not angry.

Ashtahara al-muslimoon al-yawm… It is well-known that the people of today have become rapists, killers and murderers. Human beings have become like animals and their nickname is 'the beast'. So because of that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani says that they have become some of the worst of creation and in their hearts remains no mercy, none for themselves; not for big ones nor for small ones, and they are supposed to be mercy for mankind. Allah (swt) promised yaqta` daabir az-zhalimeen - when they are unjust Allah (swt) cuts off the last of the oppressors.

Mawlana continued saying that Allah (swt) has made something haraam in all religions, from beginning to end and that is zhulm, oppression, corruption, wrongdoing. "I have forbidden oppression on Myself and on others."

Because of oppression cursing is coming down and taking away mercy and mercy is cut off, and when people are complaining it is because of injustice and oppression. The problems today are due to oppression. That is why we start with the big ones - the elected officials. If you dont have mercy in your hearts for the people you are serving then hardships come down, so our leaders must correct themselves and then Allah will give us rahma.

He says that Allah (swt) wants His servants to live a happy life. Everyone wants his children to live a happy life. also Allah wants us to live happily. Mercy is to have a happy life. But today no one is taking care of this, rather everyone is deep in corruption and injustice. So when Allah asked Sayyidina Musa (as), "Where is your nation." and he said, "My nation is on my footsteps," Allah said, "We have tested your nation and they have taken the wrong way. They have worshiped the golden calf." So Allah gave the example of the Jewish nation when they turned to worship the golden calf. It means they worshipped gold and deviated from the right path. Thus they became oppressors. Whoever worships gold and dunya his number one priority is to earn gold or earn money or to become famous. That one will become unjust. That one will become corrupt and will oppress. and that is what happens with our leaders. They worship the dollar and the euro and so they become corrupted and they kill so many people in order to remain on their seat and that is because they wanted wealth and power.

There are still dictators from the 1970's in one African country. I thought we were so advanced: men go into women's bathrooms and women go into men's. I checked the economy of that country and found they are big producers of oil, close to Namibia, two small countries there still have dictators. They do not care for their people too much. Their economy is based on oil and so when they worship money and dunya they become unjust and corrupt.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani is saying to humanity: turn back! Stop running after something that does not last. If you run after money you become unjust. If you run after mercy for people you become just. If you are seeking to follow Rasoolullah (s), he (s) never looked at dunya and Allah described the dunya as nothing but fun and games. You play and have fun and that is dunya.

So O Muslim! Come back to the advice of Awliyaullah and follow the footsteps of Rasoolullah (s) and have your doors open for all and your table open for Allah's sake. But when you follow the love of the world you are in fact following Shaytan and his advice is, "take it all." That is the reason for all the oppression in this world.

So once you have money, what do you do with it? You fulfill your desires. If you give your money away you cannot fulfill your desires. If you don't have money you go to the masjid and spend your time in worship.

One time Sayyidina Yayha (as) saw Iblees and he saw with him all these ooks. He said, "y`aleeq, what are all these hooks for?" Iblees said, "These are the desires of the Children of Adam, so I catch each one with a different hook. You like caviar, he likes clothes, he likes cars. So these are hooks are the desires of human beings with which I catch them all."

So when you have money you can access your desires. You have ApplePay and SamsungPay, instantly what you want comes across. So they collect money to fulfill their desires. So he asked, "What do you have for me, O enemy of Allah?" Iblees said, "For you I have that you eat a little bit more than usual and then salaat becomes heavy for you." So that happened to me the other day. I came to my mother, Hajjah Anne, and she prepared a lot of delicious food and and I ate a lot and then went home. I fell asleep and I didn't wake up for `Isha. Thaqulat `alayhi as-salaat, the prayer became heavy on him. Let alone `Isha you will not pray Qiyam al-layl. After that Sayyidina Yahya (as) said, "From now on I will not fill my stomach to the maximum with food." Sso when you know your weakness then cut Iblees off from that way. We are trying to learn to get rid of our desires by the guidance of our Shuyookh. When shaytan does not control us we do good, and we do what is beneficial.

May He make us always on his steps, bi-hurmatil-habeeb bi-hurmatil-fatiha.

This book contains so many wisdoms but I cannot read all of them. Tomorrow at 5:30 we will do the Fajr awrad until sunrise.
