Isha Suhbah

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah, nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala fee hadha 'l-masjid.

Salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu 'alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.

كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان فى الميزان سبحان الله و بحمده سبحان الله العظيم

There are two words that are very easy to say, yet very heavy on the Scale: “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem (astaghfirullah).” (Bukhari and Muslim)

These two sentences of two words are very light on the tongue, but very heavy in the Scale. That is something that no one can do like that except Allah (swt). two words you are saying the, they are very heavy in the Scale, very light on the tongue, very easy to say but, in reality, they are very heavy on the Scale. Any sins will be put on the other side of the Scale and these two sentences you put on the other side of the Scale, these two words are heavier than the whole sins of the Ummah, because there is no limit! Even if you put all sins of human beings in the Scale, these two words are heavier because this is ata`ullah, Allah's Grants that He gave and His Grants have no measure! You cannot limit it: as much as you describe it, it is more! Huw al-Mu`tee, wa ’l-Man`i, He grants or He holds back: He is The One Who gives! Ata`ullah, what Allah gives never ends, don't limit it! If you limit it you make a sin because Allah's Words are like His Beautiful Names and Attributes: it cannot be other than what He describes. He said: Ana ’l-Mu`tee wa ’l-Mani`, “I am The One Who gives and I am The One Who Withholds,” and He is The One Who never holds back from His servants: rather, He gives with no limits! There is no limit:

الحسنة بعشرة امثالها

One hasanaat (goodness) is equal to ten.

What kind of 10? Awliyaullah say, one great wali said that when Allah created Earth it was wobbling and Allah put mountains to make it steady, firm, and still it was wobbling. Then Allah (swt) ordered Mt. Uhud, which, when they were fighting the battle of Uhud, took Sayyidina Muhammad (s) into a cave and hid him! When Allah ordered that mountain put on the Earth of Madinat al-Munawwarah, the whole Earth became stable, from that one mountain. You see it is small, not like peaks in the Himalayas, but it is heavier in the Scale. Anyone who looks at Mt. Uhud, Allah will erase all their sins!

هذا الجبل يحبنا ونحبه

The Prophet (s) said: This mountain loves us and we love him. (Bukhari)

It means he (Mt. Uhud) is alive, he listens and he speaks. Prophet (s) heard the tasbeeh of mountains, pebbles and rocks when he was passing by Mt. Uhud and said, “He is alive.” The Prophet (s) huwa as-saadiq al-masdooq, is the Trusted One, to whom Allah entrusted the whole Ummah, and he (s) said, “This mountain loves us and we love it.” That means the mountain has feelings, and it has love to the Ummah and the mountain is making tasbeeh and it is all written for the whole Ummah, not only for the pilgrims who go there. Why do pilgrims go there? They go there because he is something alive and something alive has feelings. All that valley, from Mt. Uhud to the Rawdat ash-Shareefa in Madinah, all that valley and area came to the Prophet (s) and said, “Yaa Rasoolullah! We will turn ourselves into gold and be a support for you!” The Prophet (s) said, “We are not in need of that, Allah is al-Mut`ee.”

Like someone goes to the fridge and takes food out and then takes out more food, and then there is nothing, or people go to a warehouse and take and take (the supplies) until nothing is left. But Allah's Khazaain (Treasures) are not like that: you take and you take and it never ends! Everything takes, not just human beings: birds, fish, trees, all animals and the whole universe is taking and taking and taking, non-stop! When you take and take something in dunya, you end up with nothing and then all falls apart, but here no. Look at the Sun: every moment an atomic reaction occurs on the Sun’s surface, you see NASA pictures of those atomic explosions, and if one of them came on Earth, the whole Earth will disappear! The Sun’s temperature is 50 million degrees Centigrade and it is bubbling and bubbling. Everyone needs the Sun: Allah is giving the Sun something in order for it to give humanity something. Regardless, for sake of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), Allah is giving everyone non-stop. If you go to the doctor and say, “My child is not walking well, his legs are crooked (bowed),” he says, “Go to the beach and take in the sunshine.” Then that child’s legs will straighten because the rays of the Sun give people a lot of vitamins. Without the Sun you don’t survive.

سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا

We subject to you whatever is in Heavens and in the Earth. (Surat al-Jaathiya, 45:13)

Allah made subservient to you whatever is in Heavens and whatever is in the Earth, all of it. Everything has been given to human beings and Allah is giving and human beings are never thanking, they always want more from greediness. Allah al-Mut`ee! If you bring a shovel and move the soil, what do you see? Some worms. How are they living in darkness with soil on them? How can they find a way out? They are happy, saying, “We don't want to go out, there are jabaabira, tyrants, out there, we don't want to be between tyrants!” That is mentioned in Holy Qur'an, where?

One of the ants said, "O Ants! Enter your homes unless Sulayman and his armies unknowingly trample you." (Surat an-Naml, 27:18)

One ant, seeing that miracle that they are happily surviving under the Earth, said, “O ants! Why are you coming out to dunya? Leave it. Sulayman is coming and will step on you and kill you. Fa firroo il-Allah. run to Allah! Allah is The One Who gives!” He gives to all creatures. Imagine diving in the ocean and you see all these different animals, and fish that one does not resemble the other, and it is rainbow when you dive, and Allah is providing for all of them, trillions, and still more are coming. They are eating each other as Allah gave them permission to catch other fish, He made it halaal for them.

Who can give sustenance to all these animals? they say human beings are now six billion, but there are trillions of ocean creatures living happily! Did you hear any of them complain? No! Animals don't complain, but human beings complain, they have no mind.

We did indeed offer the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the Mountains, but they refused to undertake it, being afraid, but Man undertook it. Lo! He has proved a tyrant and a fool.

(Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:72)

He is oppressor, ignorant! He accepted the Trust when Heavens and Earth were afraid to carry it. “We offered the trust to Heavens and Earth and mountains, and they refused to carry it and ran away from it, but human beings carried it because innahu kaana zhalooman jahoola, he was oppressor to himself, and ignorant, thinking, ‘I can carry it.’” What you can carry? Even you cannot carry yourself! Allah (swt) is al-Mu`tee wa al-Mani`, The One Who Gives and The One Who Holds Back. Yaa Rabbee! Give to us, don't stop giving us Your mercy as we are in need of it! We are `ibaadun du`afa, poor servants, we cannot do anything! We are heedless, weak, restless, with no power and no energy!

Speak with people today and ask them, “Do you have energy?” They say, “We are feeling weak, tired, depressed, with no energy.” In the time of the Prophet (s), Ummat an-Nabi was very energetic, they walked everywhere as there were no cars, no trucks, no airplanes. In old times, not too long ago, I heard from some people who met one man that was walking to Mecca for Hajj, and for every step he took forward he stopped and pray two raka`ts, until he reach Madinat al-Munawarrah and then Mecca al-Mukarramah, and then he died there.

We say we are worshippers, but who can do that? We say we prayed Zhuhr and we prayed `Asr, but that is for you and even so, you prayed it with laziness! Huw al-Mut`ee, there is no limits for Allah's grants! If all human beings--the whole Ummah from the beginning of Creation to the end of Creation--what the Prophet (s) has mentioned to Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r) and to Sayyidina `Umar (r) and to his Sahaabah (r) about what Allah (swt) has given humanity, especially to Ummat an-Nabi (s), people cannot understand the Greatness of what Allah has given!

We will leave this discussion for next time when, inshaa-Allah, we will continue from Grandshaykh `AbdAllah's notes. May Allah forgive us and bless us and support us. Inshaa-Allah on Saturday we can explain more about the gifts that Allah has given and how awliyaullah are stunned and astonished; they have no way to speak about it because they are diving in that ocean that Allah gave for Ummat an-Nabi (s): you cannot imagine it how great it is!

Everyone has a way to Allah (swt) as long as he prays his prayers and keeps his fasts of Ramadan and pays his Zakaat and makes his Hajj and recites the Shahaadah, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammad rasoolullah.” The one beside him has his own way: he does all this, but still he has a way that he takes for himself. That is why it is said: at-turuq il-Allah `azza wa jall `ala `adad anfaas al-khalaa'iq, “The ways to Allah (swt) are as the breaths of the Creations.”

Everyone has his own way to Allah and as long as upholds the Five Pillars of Islam, he is saved. But he has his own way, the other has his own way; another has his own way; and the best one among them is the one who is guided by a guide who will show him the way to go directly. For example, if I want to take the stairs in order to go down to the first floor, I go left, then right, then right, then left, I come to the stairs. However, the straight way is much faster, but for that you need a guide to guide you. If someone is really asking and he did not find a guide, as Prophet (s) said, Allah will guide you through your heart. So then why go left and then right, why not go straight?

May Allah forgive us and give us a straight-forward way to reach our destination. This cannot be done except by following a guide and alhamdulillah Allah connected us to a guide that can take us to the holy presence of the Prophet (s): make salaawat on the Prophet (s) and you will be there! Of course, Huwa al-Mut`ee, He is The One Who Gives. What is the fastest way to get there? Salloo `alaa ‘n-Nabi (s)! Why do you want to make a long travel? Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ‘l-`Alameen! Yaa Shafee` al-Mudhnabeen! We have come to the presence of awliyaullah! May they present us to the presence of the Prophet (s) clean and pure.

Inshaa-Allah we will complete this next week or on Saturday, at the end of this week.

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
