Al-haqq ya`loo wa laa yu`la `alayh, “The truth is always up and nothing can defeat it”. I will go to the area no doubt about that, until they come under one flag. “Enter therein in safety”, no doubt about that, enough! This is from the people of Sham. Shaykh, it is written there (points upward) that the awliyaa are walking.
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham: Where is “there”?
Mawlana Shaykh: There (up). Whatever is written over there, we have to wait (until they) walk.
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham: By “there” do you mean the Lawh al-Mahfouzh (the Preserved Tablets), Sayyidee?
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim: Can the Lawh al-Mahfouzh be changed?
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham: Allahu Akbar! It cannot be changed or cleared.
Adatullah, adatullah, that is Allah’s constant way. If Sham becomes corrupt the whole world will be corrupt, as the Holy Qur'an shows, asta`eedhu billah, for women:
قُلْ هُوَ الْقَادِرُ عَلَى أَن يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًا مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعاً وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُم بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ
Qul huwa ’l-qaadiru `aalaa an yab`atha `alaykum `adhaaban min fawqikum aw min tahti arjulikum aw yalbisakum shiya`an wa yudheeqa ba`dakum basa ba`din
Say: "He hath power to send calamities on you, from above and below, or to cover you with confusion in party strife, giving you a taste of mutual vengeance - each from the other." (Surat al-An`am, 6:65)
Mankind is ilaahee, divine, from the Heavens. O mankind! If you did not keep to the Straight Path, siraatu ’l-mustaqeem; if some among you went crooked or followed your own desires, Allah does not leave you (to that) as He is al-Qadir, The All-Powerful, and He can bring disasters/punishment from above you!
And Jibreel (a) came and it was in the holy verses where he was said, “O Messenger, withdraw back.” But he said, “Amaan, yaa Rabbee! Do not destroy my ummah by punishing them from above,” as it came upon prior nations. And later Jibreel (a) came with the verse:
Say, “He has power to send calamities on you from above or from under your feet.” (6:65)
Just like in Japan: a punishment that destroys completely and is impossible to run from! Amaan, yaa Rabbee (keep us safe, O our Lord)! Ummatee, ummatee wa ummata (My Nation, my Nation! was the Prophet’s [s] appeal). And Allah Almighty responds, “O My Beloved! They have to be punished or “or to cover you with confusion in party strife.” They split into groups and that is another form or punishment.
وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَى
wa laa tabarrajna tabarajj al-jahiliyyati 'l-oola.
Stay in your homes and do not decorate yourselves like the decoration of the first era of Ignorance. (Al-Ahzab, 33:33)
Look at the people of Sham: all the women are going out, showing off (their beauty). How were they before?
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham: They used to cover modestly.
“or to cover you with confusion in party strife,” This is a kind of punishment for the people of Sham, Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Turkey, Africa, and Iran as well.
Allah said:
أَنَّ هَـذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا
Inna hadha siraatee mustaqeema,
“I have given you this Straight Way (which will lead you to Me).” (Surat al-An`am, 6:163)
It is a straight path, it doesn’t go right or left. There is no doubt about the punishment for those who go astray from the path of Haqq, it must be accomplished. And it is as our Lord likes and pleases.
`Amaalukum `umaalukum, “your works are your earnings.” Grandshaykh always used to say this. One morning he was in the mihrab, and he said to sit down and they started Boom, Boom, Boom. Grandshaykh said to me “They have started.” (meaning a military takeover of the government). (Turkish)... (Hajjah Naziha: Amin al-Hafizh) Then after that came the incident of Atlas from the people of Homs. It means the time between these incidents was like 20 years, maybe 20 different presidents. (Hajjah Naziha: the sect in power) No wonder about the people of Sham not even one of them came to power, `amaalukum `umaalukum.
Their (people of Sham) concern is with the worldly life, with trade and manufacturing, the French started military schools in Latakia, in Homs and possibly even in Damascus. And the people of Sham didn’t send even one of their sons to go there, they all took over (the governing party). Ahl as-Sunnah were able but they were not happy that their sons may learn in the army about war. They were busy with their worldly life, trading and manufacturing, they didn’t leave any field open, and then Alawiyeen took over.
I was at Homs in the year 1940-44, the students from the military school, madrasa harbiya, wearing the kalpak hats to identify them at the school for warfare (we didn’t see one Sunni in the School of Warfare, not in Latakia, not in Homs and not in Damascus) and also they didn’t care about the Kurdish people, they didn’t give attention to them them and didn’t give them their citizenship, identity, so that’s why they didn’t accept even one of them to be in the madrasa. Hisham Effendi, the ones in power didn’t fear except the Kurdish people who made them shake completely. Those in power didn’t fear except the Kurds. They did not fear the Arabs and if they had entered (the school) they would have finished them off, from the memories of their fathers even.
wa yalbisakum shiya`an wa yudheeqa ba`dakum basa ba`din
If they change and repent Allah will change their situation.
Their only concern was with trade,. And they prevented people of Daniyya to enter the military school. All these groups of people were stopped in their places and prevented to enter, due to that embargo. How many groups were among them Druze, Shi`a, Orthodox, Armenians, Maronites, all kinds of different shapes and sizes, they all are humans. If they had lightened the embargo (of non-Sunnis) it would have been easy for Ahlu ‘s-Sunnah. They prevented them, therefore `amaalukum `umaalukum, your rulers are as your actions.
This is the time of quietude and the time of keeping at home. May Allah protect us from the corruption of last days. Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem. Amaan, safety is from Sahib ar-Risala (the Prophet [s]). If one stays at home and locks it he will be safe and sound. Like Meccatu 'l-Mukarrama, if one enters the Haram ash-Shareef he will also be safe and similarly if someone enters the home of someone he will be safe. If no one is in the house and a person enters and locks the door, he will be safe and sound.
These demonstrations are not from Shari`ah. These groups of people, we are not happy with them. Allah said:
وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدْوَّ اللّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ
Wa a`iddoo lahum m ’astata`tum min quwwatin wamin ribaati ’-lkhayli turhiboona bihi `aduww ’Allaahi wa `aduwwakum wa aakhireen min doonihim la ta`alamoonahum
Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others beside them whom ye know not. (Surat al-Anfal, 8:60)
This is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an as to how to deal with such situations.
