Suhbah After Zhuhr Prayer

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`ala fee haadha 'l-masjid.

أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ

Ati`oollaha wa ati`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا

Wa ‘sh-shamsi wa duhaahaa.

By the sun and its brightness. (Surat ash-Shams, 91:1)

There is a surah in the Holy Qur'an named “Ash-Shams.” Just as the entire Holy Qur’an is important, so is this surah, as it is Allah’s (swt) Holy Words and in it Allah wants to show something that we may not be paying attention to. We think that the surah is speaking about the sun, but although it is called “Ash-Shams,” Allah (swt) wants to show a significance and an important meaning in it.

All `ulama and awliyaullah combined are unable to understand the full meaning and full knowledge of every letter in the Holy Qur'an. With all the knowledge that Allah (swt) has granted them and all the knowledge that the Prophet (s) inherited and gave them, still their knowledge is like a drop in the ocean of the Prophet (s), but at least Allah and Prophet (s) taught them more than anyone else.

Every Sahaabee (r) is a wali, but not every wali is a Sahaabee. Sahaabah are those who saw the Prophet (s) and were with him. Awliyaullah are not Sahaabah, but they are honored with the title “wali.” Therefore, Allah (swt) gave them something special, and this surah reflects some of those specialties. We are not going to go too much into this explanation, but when Allah is saying, wa ’sh-shamsi wa duhaahaa, “By the Sun and its brightness,” not everyone understands Allah's power, and awliyaullah understand some of it but not all.

One week ago, someone showed me a video of tornadoes on the sun. Just as there are tornadoes on Earth, there are tornadoes on the sun as well and there are many video clips on the Internet showing them. How is that possible? What kind of energy is causing them to spin? As soon as I saw that, I was immediately inspired by Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah give him long life, and Grandshaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa`iz ad-Daghestani (q), to think on the verse, alhamdulillaahi Rabbee 'l-`Alameen, “Praise be to Allah (swt), the Lord of ins and jinn.” He said like human beings, jinn give birth, live and consist of families: husband, wife, and children, and awliyaullah can see them. However, the higher the level of the wali, the less attention he pays to them as he doesn't need their help because his help comes from Allah (swt), but there are awliyaullah on a lower level who can see them and ask them for favors, as Allah (swt) mentioned in a surah of the Holy Qur'an about jinn and their powers and about Sayyidina Sulayman (a).

Qaala ``ifreetun mina‘l-jinni anaa ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqaamika wa innee `alayhi la-qawiyyun ameen.

Said an `ifreet of the jinns, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your council. Indeed, I have full strength for the purpose and may be trusted." (Surat an-Naml, 27:39)

One very strong one from among them--just as you have very powerful wrestlers or boxers such as Muhammad `Ali, whose powerful punch I have heard is like something hitting a wall at a hundred kilometers per hour--such was the power of that jinn. There are different kinds of jinn, and one is the `ifreet, the strongest. When Sulayman (a) wanted to bring the throne of Sheba, one of the `ifreet said, “I can bring it to you here, but it will take as much time as you usually sit on the throne to see people until they take leave, about three to four hours. I can get it to you with that speed.”

That means there are people who can get the power from jinn and use them, usually the lower class of awliyaullah. But they only use mu’min jinn, not kaafir jinn. However, some normal people have relations with kafir jinn and use them to separate husbands and wives, and they also do other horrid things. You have to be very careful. The mu’min jinn do not harm, rather they will help, but kafir jinn do the contrary.

Someone who wishes to get benefit will use them, and this we understand clearly from here, when the `ifreet who is mu’min said, “I will bring it to you.” But Sayyidina Sulayman (a) didn’t want to use jinn, because when awliyaullah are in a higher level they don’t pay attention to jinn as it is not their business to deal with them. But then he used the power of the one who had knowledge of the Holy Tawrat and Zaboor, signifying there are awliyaullah who can do things that normal people cannot.

Sayyidina Sulayman (a) wanted to teach those mu’min jinn that human beings are stronger than them. “Don’t think you are so strong!” he spoke with the stronger `ifreet. “No! The one with heavenly knowledge will bring it in the blink of an eye.” That means a wali can change the normal life of any human being and masaar, path, of the whole world even in one blink of an eye; Allah (swt) gave them that power because the one who has knowledge of the Zaboor was able to bring the throne of Sheba in the blink of an eye.

Grandshaykh (q) said, “Once I entered into a trance and within five minutes I entered an ocean that overtook me to change the politics of the whole world, and there I was able to pull the ears of all the leaders from different countries, bring them before me, and make this whole world Muslim! As soon as I decided to be ready for that and prepared for Haqq on Earth, the Prophet (s) appeared and said, ‘Not yet, wait. The time will be coming.’ So then I stopped, otherwise I would have been able to change it and turn everyone to mu’min and make all falsehood go down. In that five minutes of trance and under that tajalli I was able to do that.”

This is just one manifestation. In every moment Allah (swt) is revealing and sending an infinite number of manifestations on His awliyaullah. What then do you think they will do for their mureeds? Awliyaullah have the powers and in every moment they are continuously changing. That is why sometimes when they have too many things around them that prevent them from entering into trance-like states, they force themselves into different kinds of seclusions and they use any means to seclude themselves from everyone and be with their Lord. They are not in union with Him, but they are in the Divine Presence asking for the benefit of the ummah.

This is why Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said this will be the last seclusion for him and in it a lot of instructions and changes came for the ummah, the most important of which is:

يَمْحُو اللّهُ مَا يَشَاء وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِندَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ

Yamhullaahu maa yashaa wa yuthbit wa `indahu ummu ‘l-kitaab.

Allah blots out or confirms what He pleases. With Him is the Mother of the Book. (Surat ar-Ra`d, 13:39)

This dunya is built on cause and effect--if you do this action you get that result--but now this is tajalli is gone and awliyaullah are no longer under that order. Now they are under the order of Qudratullaah, kun fayakoon. Mawlana Shaykh said, “That tajalli has been manifested on Mahdi (a) and if awliyaullah say, ‘Be!’ it will be by `amrillaah Allah’s Order and permission, and it will happen.”

That is why I am saying that when we recite, “wa ‘sh-shamsi wa duhaahaa” you see the sun, but can you see what is behind the it? Scientists cannot see behind the sun. You see the light of the moon, but can you see behind the moon? What is behind the sun and the moon? What are these tornadoes spinning on the sun? And what are these jinn families we spoke about? Inshaa-Allah we will discuss this tonight if there is Nazim and stays with him so I forget, and especially these days the mind is not functioning properly, so remind me. May Allah (swt) bless us.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
