Bedouins Competing in Building High Rises

Signs of the Last Days, Part 2

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

29 January 2015 Fenton Zawiya, Michigan

Salam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.

A'oodhu billahi mina 'sh-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Ayyuha ‘l-muslimoon, ayyuha ‘l-mu’minoon, yaa ummatta Sayyidina Muhammad alayhi afdalu ‘s-salaat wa ‘s-salaam.

O Muslim brothers and sisters everywhere. There are too many issues that have to be discussed and it was discussed and now it is coming up. An-Nabi (s), coming from at-tannab’a, the word “prophet” is coming from "prophecize" or "predict" what is going to happen in the future. And Allah (swt) gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ‘l-Akhireen, Knowledge of Before and Knowledge of After, and he is observing his Ummah, he is alive. There is no way to think that Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is not able to see what we are doing! In his Hadith and in the Holy Qur'an there are evidences that he predicted what will happen in the future. Also, he (s) said:

تعرض علي أعمال امتي

I observe the `amal of my Ummah. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)

It means, “I look after them, because I am concerned about my Ummah, how they do in dunya in order to benefit in Akhirah.” And Prophet (s) is looking.

Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur’an:

They will present their excuses to you when you return to them. Say, "Present no excuses [as] we shall not believe you! Allah has already informed us of the true state of matters concerning you. It is your actions that Allah and His Messenger will observe. In the end, you will be brought back to Him Who knows what is hidden and what is open, then will He show you the truth of all you did."

(Surat at-Tawbah, 9:94)

Allah said, wa qul `imaloo fa-sayara ’Llahu `amalakum wa rasooluhu, and then He stopped. To that ayah He added, wa ‘l-mu'minoon:

وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّـهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ

And say [to them, O Muhammad!], “Act [in righteousness] for Allah will see your actions and so will His Messenger and the Believers.” (Surat at-Tawbah, 9:105)

So in the first ayah it says, “Allah and His Prophet (s) are seeing what you are doing.” If some people want to interpret it one way, but we also have the original Arabic and we can interpret as is fitting to this time. “Allah and His Prophet are seeing your actions in the future”, and the future is that moment that came when this moment passes and then another moment after it is the future. So it means that Prophet (s) is looking in the present and the future that is going to become your present and sees what you are doing. So there is very subtle, hidden meaning there, that the Prophet (s) can, and is waiting for you, and in every moment there is past, present, future. So he is in the present, then as soon as it finishes, which is a moment, the next moment replaces it, which was previously the future, so the present becomes the past and the future becomes the present and there will be another future. So fa-sayara Llahu `amalakum wa rasooluhu, “Allah and His Prophet (s) are going to see your `amal,” means in every moment there is past, present and future, and the Prophet (s) can see it, so he is looking and he is seeing.

But, unfortunately, `ilm today is so limited and the Prophet (s) mentioned that in his Ahadith:

عن انس ابن مالك سمعت رسول الله يقول لاحدثنكم حديثا لا تجدون احدا يحدثكم به بعدي

Anas ibn Malik (r) said, “I am going to tell you a Hadith that no one after me will tell you about. I heard it from the Prophet (s).”

Fifteen-hundred years ago, the Prophet (s) wanted to show us what will happen in the future. He said, inna min ashraati ‘s-saa`a, as anas ibn Malik mentioned from the Signs of the Last Days. Why the Prophet (s) wants to mention for us the Last Days? Because he is concerned about us and he wants us to be on the right track. He is carrying when he mentions something and we heard it; then if something comes to the heart to do something wrong, you say 'astaghfirullah' to bring you back to the right track. What he said? Too many people say it is now essential to study technology, but to learn scientific knowledge is not required from a Muslim, a mu’min; what is required from a mu'min is understanding of Ahadith and to act accordingly to be saved on Judgment Day!

[Entire Hadith]

Anas ibn Malik (r) said, “I am going to tell you a Hadith that no one after me will tell you about. I heard it from the Prophet (s). Knowledge will go and ignorance will come up. Wine will be drunk and zina (adultery) will be everywhere. And there will be less men and more women. For fifty women there will be one man.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Anas ibn Malik (r) said from Signs of Last Days, `ilm goes and doesn’t come back:

ان من اشراط الساعة ان يذهب العلم ويظهر الجه

Knowledge will go and ignorance will come up.

And in the continuation of this Hadith, he said:

ويشرب الخمر ويفشو الزنى

Wine will be drunk and zina (adultery) will be everywhere.

Is it happening or not? Are people drinking or not? [Yes.]

And there will be less men and more women.

This is a reality. Recently they made statistics in Europe that for every 40-50 women there is one man. There are countries where this is now a reality.

And the Prophet (s) is saying:

حتى يكون قيما لخمسين امرأة رجل واحد

For fifty women there will be one man.

That is happening and the Prophet (s) mentioned it 1500 years ago, which we are seeing today.

The Day of Judgment will not come up until the knowledges are taken away. (Muslim)

This is confirming in another Hadith by Abu Hurayrah (r) that Prophet (s) said, “The Day of Judgement will not appear until `ilm, knowledge will be lifted up.” Ya`anee, there will be no more scholars. Today there are no more scholars, very few travelling here and there doing their best in order to bring people back to normal, but the majority of people and scholars are running away. Before, as I said last time, many hundreds of years before people studied Islam; they went to universities and only Islamic Shari`ah and what Prophet (s) said were taught. That was the `ilm: Tafseer al-Qur’an, Tafseer al-Hadith, ash-Shari`ah, Fiqh, `Aqeedah, Imaan, Islam. That is what they were studying and today to study these is a secondary issue as now people are studying technology. We don't say don't study technology, but spare some time for your Akhirah. So this is from the Signs of the Last Days.

And now I will mention one Hadith and will show you a picture. Do you have the picture? How did the Prophet (s) know that? From the picture you will be amazed. Anyone that wants can come and see the picture [(skyscrapers) buildings protruding through the clouds] and those on the Internet can see it, it is there. And Prophet (s) said in his hadith...This book is only Hadith of the Last Days, titled, As-sunan al-warida fi ’l-fitan wa ghawaa’iluhaa wa ’s-saa`ata wa ashraatuhaa.

How did the Prophet (s) know about this when he was asked by Sayyidina Jibreel (a)? Jibreel (a) came as a man knocking at the door; look at the adab, they don't enter directly, they knock. Jibreel (a) knocked at the door of the Prophet (s), where he was sitting with his Sahaabah (r). He came from the desert and when someone comes from the desert he has a lot of dust on him, shadeedu bayaadi ‘th-thiyaab, this means the whiteness of the clothes was very strong, bright, it means there was no dirt on them and the Sahaabah (r) were surprised by this. The Hadith is long. And he asked the Prophet (s) about Islam, Imaan and Ihsaan and the Prophet (s) explained them to him and he asked him (s):

قال فأخبرني عن الساعة قال ما المسؤول عنها بأعلم من السائل قال فأخبرني عن أماراتها قال أن تلد الأمة ربتها و أن ترى الحفاة العراة العالة رعاء الشاء يتطاولون في البنيان

He (Jibreel) said, “Inform me about the Hour.” The Prophet (s) said, “About that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner.” So he said, “Inform me about the signs of its coming.” Said the Prophet (s), “They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see the barefooted, naked, destitute herdsman of sheep arrogantly building high buildings.”

(Muslim, Bukhari and others)

Akhbirnee `an as-saa`a, “Tell me about the Last Days”, what’s going to happen, tell me about the time it will happen. And the Prophet (s) said, maa ‘l-mas'ool bi-`alam min as-saa'il, “The one being asked does not know more than the one being asked.” From adab the Prophet (s) made himself as if he doesn’t know, although the whole hadith is him predicting what is going to happen, so he knows when it is going to happen, but adaban ma` Allah, that is from Unseen, Ghayb, so he left it as if he does not know, saying, “You know better than me.” And Jibreel (a) said, fa-akhbirnee `an amaraatihaa, “What are its Signs?” And the Prophet (s) said:

ان تلد الامة ربتها

You will see the sons treat their mothers like slaves and cursing them.

You will see the woman give birth to her child, the son, and he will treat her as a maid. The sons in the Last Days are going to see their mothers as slaves, doing everything for her children and the child is cursing her. And second is:

You will see the barefoot, naked, destitute Bedouin shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings. (Bukhari)

You will see the barefooted, naked Bedouins from the desert, who take their sheep to graze wherever they find something, competing in building higher buildings than each other. So what does that mean? Prophet (s) said:

Wa amma al-maqsood fee tataawul al-ri`aa fee l-bunyaan fa-naqala `an al-qurtubi, an yastawlaa ahl al-baadiya `ala l-amr. (Ibn Hajar)

As for the meaning of ‘Bedouins competing in buildings’, Al-Hafez ibn Hajar in this commentary on al-Qurtubi understood it to mean that the Bedouin, the people of the desert will take control of the government, they are going to take control in their hands and those people who are educated and better off will be thrown out and ahli ‘l-baadiya, the people of the desert will take over. Did they take over or not? That is not from us, but that is an explanation from 1400 years ago!

And they will take over the country by force and they will have a lot of money. (Ibn Hajar)

And they will control and take the country by force and their money is going to be so much that no one can count it, even more than the wealth of Qaroon. “And all their concern…”:

وتنسب همامهم الى تنفيذ البنيان

All of their concern is to erect buildings. (Ibn Hajar)

“Their only concern is to build buildings” and not only the buildings; they decorate them and they compete in building higher than each other. As you saw in the picture, most of the buildings are above the clouds in the Gulf, and you can see the buildings, according to the picture, the tops of buildings higher than the other. You can see it completely because the picture was taken either by an airplane or by someone standing on a high rise taking a picture of the whole city, and he sent that picture over to say that the Hadith of the Prophet (s) from 1500 years ago came true, and we see it through reality of that picture.

Imam Nawawi (r), whose grave they recently blew up, saying it is shirk (astaghfirullah!) so they completely destroyed it, gave another interpretation, that it is not only the people of the desert, but also the poor people of the country take over the country through parliaments.

Imam al-Nawawi said that the meaning of ‘the people of the desert’ is the people in need and those who have nothing.

They win the election, husalat al-qawm, the lowest type of people take over and control the government:

وتبسط لهم الدنيا

The dunya will be given to them. (Imam Nawawi)

And dunya will be given to them, the keys for everything, the wealth of the country will be given to them. Now we see the richest countries are the Muslim countries through their wealth from oil.

Until they compete and show off their buildings. (Imam Nawawi)

“Until they begin to build high rises,” and the Prophet (s) said yatataawaloon, “They compete in building higher than the other.” And this is what we are seeing in the desert countries mostly, and also we see in Malaysia two high rise buildings, and in Hong Kong and Japan, and in Europe and America a few, but in the Gulf there are so many, as in the picture, so many above the clouds!

Al-Tuawijari chose the last opinion, that ‘the high buildings’ refers to there being many floors. That is what we see in our time, due to too much wealth they have in these countries. May Allah (swt) keep us always under the love of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! So in continuation, Abu Hurayrah (r) said:

لا تقوم الساعة حتى يتطاول الناس في البنيان

The Hour will not appear until the people compete in buildings.

“The Day of Judgement will not come until the Sign that people will compete in high rises. Is this what we are seeing or not? [Yes!] So what we are waiting, for more Signs? Already is a big Sign mentioned by Jibreel (a) and Prophet (s), Jibreel (a) asked and Prophet (s) answered, so this is obvious. Leave the other Ahadeeth, that Hadith is enough for everyone to make sure they are praying, fasting, giving zakaat, and making Hajj if he can, and to have better behavior and manners! This is what the Prophet (s) wants from us, and we are in the time of the Last Days and we have to be very careful. And the Prophet (s) said that in the Last Days:

ستكون فتن كقطع الليل المظلم

There will be confusion like a chunk of dark nights.

“There will be big chunks of fitna like big chunks of dark nights,” so be careful and don't interfere, don't let people recruit you in anything. Keep to yourself, to your family, keep to your country and live in peace and harmony, and don't listen to this one and that one. This one hadith is enough to bring us back to the normal track! Today there are those who say [it is okay to sin] just one time, but no, not even one time, because one time leads to two times and twice leads to three times, and then you cannot control it. People today are getting addicted to things and they cannot leave it, then they have a problem, such as people addicted to biting their fingernails; always you see them hungry, eating their nails.

I heard from, may Allah bless his soul, from Grandshaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani (q) that awliyaullah are able to see jinn. Not everyone can see them, but it is a fact that jinn are there and Sayyidina Sulayman (a) is one who is controlling them. In the time of the Prophet (s) they entered into statues to speak, in Hubal, [Lat and Manat] thaaliti ’l-ukhrah, in order to confuse the people who became Muslim.

Allah (swt) said He sent the heavy heat of the sun on the devils; Allah made a part of the Sun to come on devils to burn them. So where do they hide themselves from the Sun? Under the nails. He said that is why don't have long nails, where Shaytan can go and yatafayya’ take shade under the nails! Anyone eating the nails is tasting the dirtiness of Shaytan, so be careful from eating your nails as then the bad character Shaytan is carrying goes on you. So don’t make your nails long to be eaten and cut them and make them normal.

Today people are trapped in many kinds of Shaytanic ways. May Allah (swt) forgive us and bless us!

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Habeeb bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

This book was published in Dar al-`Asima al-Mamlakat as-Sa`uudiyya in Saudi Arabia, which means all the Ahadith have been checked by them, so no one can say this Hadith is (incorrect). We took this Saudi edition of the book in order that everyone can accept it.

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
