Both the Apparent and What is Hidden are Realities

O Believers in Islam! azh-Zhaahiran wa ‘l-baatina, “the Apparent and the Hidden,” means what some of our no-mind people are trying to deny: Sufism. They never understand and they work for Shaytan.

Allah Almighty said in His Holy Qur’an:

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Huwa ‘l-awwalu wa ‘l-Aakhiru wa ‘zh-Zhaahiru wa ‘l-baatinu wa huwa bi kulli shay’in `Aleem.

He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Hidden, and He has full knowledge of all things! (57:3)

That means there is zhaahir and there is baatin. Zhaahir refers to Shari`ah and baatin is Tariqah. Zhaahir means “out-looking” (external) and that are the orders of Shari`atullah. And baatin, what do they understand from “baatin”? To whom does it refer? Huwa ‘l-awwalu wa ‘l-Aakhiru wa ‘zh-Zhaahiru wa ‘l-baatinu. It is for arranging a relationship with our our physical beings and how we can deal with each other; this is what zaahir is teaches. As for baatin, it is for everyone’s relationship with their Lord, which is secret, hidden.

How they are denying Sufism? Sufism is there, but it is baatin, a secret relationship of Mankind with their Creator, or another way to describe it is, al-baatin arranges our physical being on this planet with our real beings from Heavens. Therefore, there must be tariqat, which is hidden, while Shari`ah is open. However, so many people have been cheated by some shaytanic groups that work to destroy Islam, because Islam’s power comes from inside, not from outside. They work to destroy our real power that belongs to our faith by denying tariqahs.

Tariqah never orders anything against Shari`atullah. Really tariqahs order you to uphold Shari`atullah as much as you can, that first you must complete the orders of Shari`ah, and then you must look after your spiritual being.

Man has two types of personality: one belongs to his physical being and the other belongs to his spiritual being. If one does not believe in the spiritual being, they will never be a believer. Now such ignorance has spread among believers, because tricks have been put down for destroying Islam from its true nature. Therefore, those same people are trying to deny our inner life, our spiritual being, so that we will only be like an empty statue that eats, drinks, and dances! That is their way, the way of animals!

Where is our honor? We are honored by our Creator, Allah Almighty, Who is saying:

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً

Wa izz qaala rabbuka lil-malaa’ikati innee ja`ilun fi'l-`ardh khalifah.

And when your Lord said to the angels, "Verily I am making in the Earth a deputy.” (al-Baqarah, 2:30)

That is covering both our spiritual and material beings: both of them are together. If we separate them and focus only on our spiritual being, Man will belong exclusively to heavenly beings, and if we deny our spirituality and focus only on our physical being, we will be like animals.

No-mind people are not thinking, so they will never reach the honored level of Mankind, and they will be oola’ika kal anaam, like cattle!

أُوْلَـئِكَ كَالأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ

oolaa'ika ka'l-an`am bal hum addal

They are like cattle, nay, even lower. (Al-A'raaf, 7:179)

Holy Qur’an states about those who deny the reality of Islam as, oola’ika kal anaami bal hum adal, “They are like cattle, but more than that, double.” May Allah forgive us. Therefore, don’t look at those ignorant people. We are on haqq! We are Defenders of Truth.

The Seal of Prophets (s) appointed Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) as his khalifah. Why? All the Sahabah heard, listened to, and believed in whatever Prophet (s) said, on the same level. But there is a secret relationship between them and the Seal of Prophets (s). The strongest heart took from his heart; no other Sahabah was able to reach to that point. Therefore, Prophet (s) made Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) his khalifah that succeeded him. All the Sahabah knew what as-Siddiq (r) knew; there was no difference. But why did the Seal of Prophets (s) chose as-Siddiq (r) and make him the imaam after him, and he prayed after him, as well?

Where are the Shi`a people (what is their position)? They don’t know this? Who gave them the authority to swear against as-Siddiq (r), and Sayyidina `Umar Farooq (r)? The names “Siddiq” and “Farooq” are honored from Heavens, and the Prophet (s) was not speaking by himself, but he was always speaking the inspirations that came to him. Without inspiration he was not speaking! He said, “That is Siddiq, and that is Farooq.” If there weren’t any signs, the Prophet (s) could not have said that!

How the Shi`a people came against this? How? Na’oodhu billahi anaakoona mina ’l-jaahileen na’oodhu billah, “I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant!” May Allah forgive us. This is important. Sufism is to make our relationship with Heavens. It is the way through which we can reach our heavenly positions; that is waseela, “a means.” Just as we can’t ascend skies without an airplane, without Sufism we are not able to make our souls reach their real stations in Heavens.

They may say, “There is no dhikr.” Allah Almighty is saying:

فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ

fadhkuroonee adhkurkum.

Remember Me, I will remember you. (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:152)

How they are denying dhikr? What is dhikr? Afdalul dhikri la ilaaha illa-Llah, “the best remembrance is to say, ‘There is no god save Allah’.”

Ayyada kumullah, may Allah support you. Al-haqq yalu wala yughla ‘alayh, all the baatil is under my feet. Allah, Allah.

Fatihah.
