Suhbah after Jumu`ah Khutbah
(Mawlana Shaykh stands.) La ilaaha illa-Llah, la ilaaha illa-Llah, la ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasulullah `alayhi salaatullah. (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)
As-salaamu `alaykum, yaa `IbaadAllah, O our Lord’s servants! It is honor for you to come and to attend Jumu`ah praying. Jumu`ah praying, subhaanAllahi ’l-Aliyyi ‘l-`Azheem, continues around this world. Now we prayed here holy Friday’s prayer and the Lord of Heavens giving honor. Through seven days, most honored day is Friday, Jumu`ah. We are thanking Allah Almighty that He granted us to be present for this most holy day of the week and we are trying to do as much as possible according to our capacities or abilities.
Shukrulillah, all praising and thanks and honors and glories on His most beloved and honored Representative. I am ashamed to say “servant” for the Seal of Prophets (s). (The title) “servant” is suitable for us, but the Seal of Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (s), (Mawlana Shaykh stands) is the representative of Allah Almighty from pre-Eternal up to Eternal, not only for this world or Creation, but for every creation that the Lord of Heavens created! Who is representing Him? Jesus Christ? Sayyidina Nuh? Sayyidina Adam? No, if Sayyidina Adam (a) was representative, he wasn’t going, and if he is not representing, you must know who is the real representative of the Lord of the Whole Creation!
And we are saying, A`oodhu billahi mina Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem. You must say this, it is the sign of servanthood to say, a`oodhu billahi mina Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem. O Master, Grandshaykh, the controller of this planet, madad.
O People! Don’t think that Allah Almighty created only one world. He is Allah and the creation is never stopping, continuing from pre-Eternal up to Eternal. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) No one knows the real meaning of Azaliyyun, (pre-Eternal to Eternal), Abadiyyun, (existing to Eternity; everlasting) and Sarmadiyyun (ever-living; eternal). Allahu akbar, O our Lord!
As-salaamu `alaykum. You are here? So many khayaal, thinkings occupying ourselves, saying, “When is Shaykh finishing this endless history, and endless histories for him, but we are getting hungry. We don’t think we can find kebab, so the famous cook at Shaykh’s dergah is daily cooking soup, soup, soup, soup, soup!”
When finishing (this suhbah) today, quickly he may run to the kebab tikka house! My teeth finished; I have dentures and can’t eat. Therefore you understand, “Shaykh has no teeth and he likes to drink soup everyday, morning soup, lunch soup.”
There is a very antique person coming from the Black Sea and he is saying, “Today you must drink soup, but we are putting in it some beans also to be more. Everyday give us meat to make us happy.”
And people sitting, looking to me saying, “You are having lunch?”
“Yes, everyday soup, soup. We are not like you! We are 90 years old and we are not asking to eat kebab!”
They have so many things through their mind, to remember this and that, putting mindly productions through their remembrance.
O People! Try to be for Allah, jallah jalaallahu! O servants, try to remember that you are servants. We have been created for servanthood! We are not created for eating and drinking. No! But people are thinking they are just created to eat ladheedh, delicious food from morning up to evening. That is an attribute of the world of animals. When you are looking at animals in a meadow, never taking their heads up. You saw any cow looking this way (upward)?
Now people are saying they reached the top of civilization. It is not a civilization if it is going to be like cows and bulls. Bulls and cows always looking after what they are eating. Now people always looking after delicious food and dressing in skins of fox, and they are happy. Some of them are saying they like to dress in bearskin, that it is better. Foolish people like much more to eat sheep coming from oven, and shaykh of Kurdish people sitting like this and bringing big tureen (soup bowl) and putting head side of shaykh and shaykh making hands like this, now it is the time for fighting with hunger. Don’t be angry—be hungry, doesn’t matter. Yes, sir. That is all our peoples’ attribute now: what you are eating, what you are drinking, what you are dressing.
Now mystery person saying, “O my darling, we must change our car, for new styles coming.”
And he is very angry, saying, “Ptuu (spit)! Don’t be foolish, our car is still good.”
“If you are not changing, I am locking door where you are sleeping and bringing small dirty boys, putting on you to wake up.”
Don’t occupy yourself with animals’ world; they are occupying themselves only for eating and drinking. Alhamdulillah, they are not in need to dress as we are dressing, no. All people, they are servants of the Lord of Heavens, and we must use servants’ dressings, servants’ eating, servants’ attributes. The Seal of Prophets, Sayyidina Muhammad (s), (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) was saying, “I am sitting as a servant sitting, and I am eating as a servant eating.” No pride. Be humble, because servanthood without humbleness is never accepted. He is not a servant who is making himself a proud person.
Shaytan always bothering heedless generations that are living now, saying, “O Youngsters! You must as much as possible be proud ones. Don’t be humble, be proud.” Therefore, 21st century ones are always running to be proud ones and not to be a humble ones. Therefore, now in the world people are in a very difficult situation. What is the reason? Because everyone asking to be a proud person and no one accepting to be a humble person! Therefore, from east to west, even in this country, Cyprus, so many universities. For what? To make youngsters proud ones. When they are getting proud, they are not accepting, saying, “No, we can’t accept any job, we have a PhD.” We are living in Lefke, a small town. Fifty years ago people were living here and they were looking to what Allah Almighty granted to them.
