Tariqatuna as-suhbat wal-khayru fil jam`iyya.

We said yesterday that even if you reach high level of knowledge and you use that knowledge to show miracles, it is not accepted. And miracles you have to keep it to yourself, you must not show an ego. When someone does something, he feels he did a great thing, he wants to show yourself. That is why awliyaullah, especially the kummal from the high caliber from the Golden Chain, have been ordered not to show a miraculous power. All what you see of them are not considered miraculous power; they are normal issues that they sprinkle it around the mureeds in order to keep the mureeds close together. But the real miracle that they do is what they work on your heart and polish you and  present you to the Prophet in every twenty-four hours.

And so this Ubaydullah al-Amawi was asking all these questions. He was asking from Sayyidina `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani and saying, "I have this, I have this, I have this. Do I need murshid?"  And anything that creates questions is sign of doubts in heart, as that doesn't come on the tongue unless it is in the heart. So all these questions he was asking Sayyidina `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani were not important, although he was answering them. That is why Sayyidina 'Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, may Allah bless his soul, said, "If you see a wali flying in the air, say this is not a wali." Because awliyaullah like to keep themselves in low profile. If you see a wali that is flying in the air and doing something that is against Shari'ah, that is not a wali, so drop him from your heart.

So I was explaining yesterday about Shaykh Sharafuddin قدس سرّه and people who a little bit found a way to use jinn in their lives. And they are trying to cheat students - like the three statues in time of Prophet (s) when Shaytan went into these three- Hubal and al-Uzza and al-Lat - the three statues they were worshipping. And non-Muslim jinn entered into these statues and they begin to speak.  They want to make fitna.  So this kind of using jinn, that is why we have to be careful of so-called shaykhs who are trying to destroy the students, or the students of the masters. They are using jinn to make black magic.

And so I brought the story of Grand Grandshaykh, Shaykh Sharafuddin قدس سرّه, where in Turkey in Aya Sofya, in 1913 there was taa'ifa of priests; and because it was a church before, which turned into a mosque, so they came in that mosque and they were flying up and down to the balcony. Up and down and making people confused.  Shaykh Sharafuddin went in, and that is why it is important for anyone who wants to prevent black magic to do that. And Mawlana is giving permission now to people who have problems with black magic now, or think they have been affected by jinn. So qad ja al-haq wa zahaq al-batil, "truth has come and falsehood has perished."  And so Shaykh Sharafuddin قدس سرّه went in, entered the mosque which used to be church, and these priests were rising up and falling down, rising up and falling down. So what he did? We leave it to next time. (everyone laughs)

So what he did? He took his shoes... What he did? (threw his shoes). What? No. He doesn't need to throw them. Without that he will bring them down. So he took his shoes, and when you have your shoes how you have them? How you wear them? From top or from bottom? (from top). So  he turned them upside down, showing bottom side up and up is down. So as soon as he turned this, these priests began to lose energy, falling down. So he put his shoes by the entrance of the masjid upside down. Because that is baatil. Baatil. You have to show the back of  shoes, where you are stepping on it. So he turned them out and he began to recite Surah Yasin, but not from the beginning - from the end. (laughter)

So what is the last verse? (kulli shay, impossible) And how was he reciting? Let us say yasin wal-quran il-hakeem. Let us say inakka lamin almursaleen. No, he was not reciting the verse in order, but reciting from the last letter and backwards. So mursaleen, what is last letter? nun, then before it ya, then lam, then before it ra, so he was reciting. So he was reciting neel, not leen. So he was reciting all the way back in Surah Yasin, and as soon as he is reciting from the last verse all the way from back, and as soon as he is reciting from back, these are falling down. The black magic stopped.

So anyone who has a problem with black magic can take the last verse of Surah Yasin and he turn it upside down, just the last verse and he write it according to how he is giong to read it, so he reverse the letters and begin from back, forth. Read one verse, black magic down. If it disappear, alhamdulillah. If not, another verse. If magic goes down, alhamdulillah. If not, read another verse. If not going down, another verse. If not, another verse. So up to seven verses, as we are not Shaykh Sharafuddin to recite it by heart. Look what awliyaullah, how they have ability to do, to recite. So when haqq comes, batil disappears. When he reversed for them all the verses, immediately their magic gone.
So Ubaydullah al-Amawi, we go back to the normal story, Ubaydullah al-Amawi was wondering what is that question that Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani is going to ask him. He was unable to sleep because he was thinking “I know all these knowledges from top to all the way down. So what more is there than that? There is a question?" It didn't click to him because all his knowlege he had acquired, he acquired in dunya. So anything you acquire, that without connection from akhira is not going to be firm or stand on firm structure.  If you want to build your house on cliff your house will fall and you fall with it.

So you have to build your knowledge on something that is heavenly, not dunya-wise. Eh! How you build it on something heavenly? On that question that Shaykh  `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani قدس سرّه is going to ask him, because it relates with heaven. It must not be built on dunya knowledge. Because, as when he said, "I learned this and learned that," it was saying that, "What I learned, this due to my continuous worship in dunya." He  wants to tell him, "No, you cannot build yourself on the knoweldge built in dunya; it must be related to akhira." That is why Ahmad al-Badawi قدس سرّه, the shaykh that came to him, pull all knowledge that he learned, as it was all built in dunya. Then he is able to pour to him heavenly knowledge.

So you want to go that question of Sayyidina `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani قدس سرّه? OK. He said, "Do you remember in a moment when you were in a subtle being, not in a form, as a soul? Do you remember that moment or that day?” He looked at him as if he didn't understand what he is saying. I think you understand here but he was not understanding. Do you understand? (I think so) Do you remember a moment in your life? Because life is not when you are born. This is dunya life, a cycle, but a second cycle. But life is when you were a soul, when Allah created you as a soul. That is the first cycle in heavens. Then you are the second cycle in dunya. Then you are in the third cycle in barzakh, from the grave up to Judgment Day. Then from Judgement Day to eternal life is fourth cycle.

It means, “Do you remember your first cycle, what you did from the moment you appeared there? Because I am not... it is not important to me your dunya cycle. What I am asking you is the pre-dunya cycle. Do you remember?"  No answer. He has lot of questions, now. Now he dropped them. Wa asaluka shayyin laa buda minha. hal tadrik... bil bala heen qala rabbuka alastu birabbikum qaaloo bala. "I am asking you, do you know and do you remember the moment when Allah swt asked you, 'Am I not your Lord?' and everyone answered 'Yes!'? And do you remember that moment?" He said, "No." He said, "Then whatever you  have now is nothing. The most important is that moment. That is what is going to give you the keys for your door. Do you remember it? Do you remember?" – he is throwing on him many questions – "Do you remember what has happened in that moment when everyone, and you in particular, said 'Bala – Yes!' And do you remember that big day, which was big heavenly day, do you know who was on your right side and do you know who was on your left side and what is their names in heaven and in dunya? On left side and on right side, and not only the one on right and one on left - you have to know the first one on right up to end and from the first one on left until the end. The arwahu junoodun mujannada 'the souls are gathered troops.' They are all together and you must know them and 'call them to their fathers' – do you know their fathers?"

So what he has to answer? He said, “No.” And Sayyidina `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani قدس سرّه said to him, "Everything you mentioned, the vision, the high-level questions," and asking many question to him. "And so all that you are mentioning, all the high visions you mentioned, if you don't keep that point in consideration you are like child crawling and falling. You are nothing! fa lasta shayyan- you are nothing and what you told me about your visions are like toys that awliya give candies for children. Like candies or toys for children that awliya give to follower, that is what is given in order to keep you attracted to the way."

So where are we? Every one of us, big turban. You can see how they walk on internet; they walk with their "students', with the stick in front. They are on the internet, you can see them on YouTube – their students put them on YouTube. They turn the stick and they walk. They think they have something. And I know when they go to Mawlana Shaykh they sit, all of them, those shaykhs who think they know something. Mawlana asks them, "What is your name?" as if to tell them, "You are nothing." How many times he asked one of them, we know very well, “What is your name?”  You were there doctor? When he asked one of them, "What’s your name?”. ( I was there when he was asking us what is his name)

"Ya waladee – O my son! You have to take your tariqah from perfect shaykh that can take you all the way: to know to what you have answered, and what you have promised, and what you have received, and what obligation you put yourself under, and what you are going to help those coming to listen to you. And if you are not going to, or cannot reach that level without, by not following, without a perfect shaykh. You have to follow someone who can take you to that date, to that day."

Awliyaullah, they have that secret for you, waiting to give to you - but you have to run for it. Not sitting on your chair and waiting for everything to come to you. Like people they sits at the table and want to eat and they don't want to do anything. How you want to get food on the table without doing, all the day cooking? You have to do something, you have to worship, you have to do something. You have to do something that make the shaykh happy with you. And shaykh will not give easily. Especially you, he will give too many tests until he crush down.

"Ya waladee law abadta ibadata aththaqalayn wa hasala lak al kushufat al-kainat min adam ila yawmil-qiyamah ma yakoonu laka `itibar. O my son if you worship with full worship of jinn and ins (mankind), from the time of Adam to Judgment Day and all kinds of opening come to you, it has no value to us. It doesn't mean anything to us if you don't know what is going to happen to you in Day of Promises. That is the condition. If you don't reach in your dunya life to know what was your situation in Day of Promises, in the first cycle, in the cycle of souls - all what you have achieved in dunya, that has no value.  La `itibara laha, that is not even considered, no value; that is thrown in your face."

At that moment he said, "Ya waladee, do you know what happened to me and to all these awilya before me, in order to know all these knowledges of the Day of Promises? I will take you all the way there, but you have to drop from your heart all your visions; all your kushufaat, all the unveiled knowledges that were unveiled to you. Don't look at it. Throw them from your heart.  If you look at it I am not able to take you to Day of Promises."

If someone today saw a dream, he is flying. "O, I saw a dream."  Better not to see a dream. If someone saw a dream he says, “O, I saw angels, I saw turbans, I am going to Madina, I am going to Mecca."  Keep it to yourself. Why talk about it? Because he feels ego side, “I saw that. What is going to be meaning? I am going to be wali.” Did you tell me like that? Never you told me about a dream. It is easy not to see a dream. At least you will not be tricked. That is from the temptation, they send it to you to test you. Are you going to keep solid and keep fighting the ego? You must say, “This is from their favor on me, but this is from their love. But I don't have that love for them as they have love for me.” But now, if someone sees a dream he becomes a shaykh, a big shaykh. I know from these. Might be they are taking some tablets that make them high. And they begin to see things, and they see this, and see that and begin to hallucinate.

Subhanallah! Allahu akbar

So he said to him, "If you are going to stay believing in yourself, I cannot open to you. But if you surrender and you throw from your mind these questions - sitting with me long days now, asking me question, question, question, telling me this, telling me that - if you don't throw these from your heart and become between my hands like a dead person in my hands, I cannot take you there." Although dead person in tariqah is also not acceptable, because he said, "Don't be like the deceased person in hands of washer. May be saying, 'O don't turn me this way and that way! You have to be soft with me, not cold!"  And Sayyidina Shaykh Sharafuddin قدس سرّه said, "We don't want the submission of dead person. Be like leaf of tree; the wind takes it wherever it goes."

So he took lower level. He said, "I take you as a dead person in hands of washer." He doesn't say anything. "So if you accept, I can open for you. If you don't accept, there is no permission for opening." He said, "Ya sayyidee I accept." So what Shaykh `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani قدس سرّه has to do? He said he would take him if he accept; he said, "I accept." He said, "No, you have to die first. I am going to crush you. Are you ready for destroying?"  "Destroy me? How?"  Still he has questions. Instead of saying, "Yes," he said, "How?"  "I will shoot you. You accept I shoot you?" He was thinking, "How? With a gun?" They don't need a gun, awliyaullah. With a bow and arrow, they don't need.  They will destroy you with tests.

He said, "Ya waladee if you give your life to me now since you have all these visions, you can give me your life now and destroy your ego in the way that I will show you. I will take you all the way there in three hours, not in one moment. In three hours."  Awliyaullah can take one moment, but three hours like to wash your clothes in machine and dry them. So he has to wash him and dry him, but with what he is going to wash him and with what they dry him? He said, "I am going to wash you with what they washed me. And then when I wash you, you will begin to understand the knowledges you reached on Day of Promises. So prepare yourself."

We are preparing ourselves until tomorrow, so if you want to receive that you have to be washed. So test him until tomorrow.
