Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

5 March 2014 Lefke, Cyprus

Zhuhr Suhbah at the Dergah

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`alaa fee haadha 'l-masjid.

أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ

Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. First of all, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) sends his salaam to everyone. He has sent a message that inshaa-Allah we will put on SufiLive.

The one thing I would like to say is that Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur’an:

O you who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible), for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you would abhor it. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:12)

Who is better than you? Mashaa-Allah you are Muslim, mu’min and followers of Sultan al-Awliya coming together in the Naqshbandi Way. Inshaa-Allah with the barakah of our shaykh and the Prophet (s), we will have a good status in the Day of Judgment, to be with the Prophet (s), with Mawlana Shaykh and to be with awliyaullah. However, there is one very important message in the Holy Qur’an for everyone, which has also been mentioned in many ahadeeth:

“O believers, avoid too much of doubting, because most of the doubts are sins.” So try to avoid doubts. In continuation of the ayah, “Don’t try to spy,” not in the literal meaning as they do in countries, but don’t spy on each other and don’t try to compete against each other and put someone down and someone up. We are all brothers and Mawlana loves everyone the same. For that reason, Allah said in the Holy Qur’an, “Don’t spy on each other, don’t backbite each other.” How much of backbiting are we doing? Too much! Allah is saying, “Would you like to eat the flesh of your dead brother?” to humiliate him, put him down and then cry on his grave? Then Allah says, “No, you would be disgusted!”

Allah (swt) said:

O you who believe! If a corrupt person comes to you with something wrong, ascertain the truth unless you harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what you have done. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:6)

If someone comes to us with news, let us check it, don’t agree with every news that comes to you as it might be wrong and come under the category of backbiting. Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, said, “If you repeat a story that happened two hours ago, Allah’s curse comes on you,” meaning, don’t bring a smelly carcass back to life. If something happened try to cover it, not expose it. You should cover on your brothers and sisters. We are not covering; some are, but some are not. So we hope that those who are not covering, and I, cover on each other. Alhamdulillah on those who are covering. I do not claim that I am covering; therefore, I have to repent and so do others. They should not bring up a story that took place in the past and make an issue out of it. There are too many stories going around in this world due to the social media today. Everyone has a complaint, but the sin is not on the one who complains, but Allah doesn’t like someone to bring up something unless he has really been oppressed. Allah (swt) said:

Allah loves not that evil should be voiced in public except where injustice has been done, for Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:148)

You have the right to bring up your story if you have really been oppressed, but if you are not oppressed drop it. In tariqah, you must keep silent even if you have been oppressed, and send it to Allah, saying, “Yaa Rabbee, I will take my rights from You on the Day of Judgment.” Inshaa-Allah this way we will all benefit and our shaykh will be happy. May Allah (swt) make all of you happy, make me happy and make every Naqshbandi around the world happy! May Allah give health to Mawlana Shaykh, as he just told me, “Let them pray for me, I have no power.” May Allah give shifaa’ to our shaykh and give him long life to see Mahdi (a) and to be with him inshaa-Allah!

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

Wa ‘s-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
