The Processions Welcoming Prophet Muhammad (s) in Heavens

Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

4 December 2015 Singapore

Suhbah at Abdul Aleem Siddique Mosque (1)

[Suhbah in progress.]

...On the Day of Promises where we all said, “Yaa Rabbee, You are our Creator and we are your servants,” Allah likes that. Allah likes when someone says anaa `abdun `ajiz, “I am a helpless servant.” The Prophet (s) said:

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَمَن

Say, "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me that your Allah is one Allah.

(Surat al-Kahf, 18:110)

“[O Allah!] I am nothing but a human being like You revealed to me.” He (s) wants to humble himself, to make familiarity between us and him, to make us not take away from love of the Prophet (s)! He said, "I am a human being like you." How can he be like us? He went to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa! We cannot go to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, we cannot ascend like the Prophet (s) on the Night of the Ascension, Laylat al-Israa wa ‘l-Mi`raaj! That night Allah (swt) wants to honour Ummat al-Nabi by inviting the Prophet (s) to the Station of Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa to receive what Allah ordered him and no one knows what Allah gave him of orders!

Sayyidina Jibreel (a) accompanied the Prophet (s) on that journey. Prophet (s) was able to go directly to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa but he went from one level to another, from one heaven to another, to the First Heaven, the Second Heaven, Third Heaven, Fourth Heaven, Fifth Heaven, Sixth Heaven, Seventh Heaven; why did he pass through all of them when he was able to say, “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem” and, by Allah’s order, to immediately be in the Divine Presence at Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa! Why does he have to go one level after one level after one level? Allah wants to show him what he blessed the Ummah with, what levels He gave to the people of Paradise! So he went up to the first level, second level, third level, up, up, up in Ascension and in every level at every Paradise, as it is said in the Seerah, Sayyidina Jibreel (a) knocked on the door of that Paradise and the angels said, “Who is that?” and he said, “It is Jibreel (a),” and they said, “Who is with you?” They knew the Prophet (s) is with Jibreel (a), but they wanted to ask to honor themselves with the Prophet (s). Allah (swt) honored the Prophet (s) and thus honored them when He said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:56)

Allah honored the Prophet (s) and them by ordering them, so what Allah has given in every Paradise is more than what He gave in the next Paradise: what is in the first is less than what is in the second, which is less than what is in the third. Allah (swt) wants to show His Habeeb what rahmah He is giving to Ummat an-Nabi (s), so in every Paradise the Prophet (s) is seeing what kind of honor the angels want to give him. For example, when a king comes they honor him, block the streets and put processions and decorations. So what do you think Allah (swt), The Creator, gives Sayyidina Muhammad (s), the Beloved One, when he is ascending from one Paradise to another in Laylat al-Israa wa ‘l-M`iraaj? Who knows what honor and gifts Allah gave to him? For sure He gave gifts to His Beloved and no one knows what they are, even other prophets do not know, it was special to Prophet (s) and his Ummah, which is why he (s) said:

أنا سيد ولد آدم ولا فخر

I am the Master of the Children of Adam and I say it with no pride. (Tirmidhi. Al-Bazzar)

Allah (swt) honored him and he (s) said, “I am a human being,” but not a human being like us, Allah (swt) gave him something different. Who can go to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa? Even if you go up 10,000 miles in the sky, an airplane can ascend to a maximum of 40,000 feet, any higher it will crack. Prophet (s) went which direction? There is no direction there, no jihah. Allah knows to where He brought His Prophet (s): that is beyond hadd ad-dunya, where SubhaanAllah revealed to him and brought him to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, within two bows’ lengths of an arrow and even less. What is ‘even less’? He said ‘less’ in order to show that Prophet (s) was so near when Allah was speaking with him: as Imam Nawawi (r) said, the Prophet (s) was able to see what people cannot see, He saw Allah (swt) with the eyes of his head! Of course, in the way the Prophet (s) can carry tajalla `alayhi, Allah manifested on him that noor that Sayyidina Musa (a) smelled a little bit of and said:

قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ

He said, "O my Lord! Show Yourself to me, that I may look upon You." (Surat al-`Araaf, 7:143)

“O Allah, let me see You!” Allah (swt) said, “You cannot see Me.” He didn’t say that to Prophet (s), who saw Allah (swt) with the eyes of his head! Allah told Sayyidina Musa, “Take off your shoes when entering the Holy Valley,” but the Prophet (s) entered the Divine Presence! The honor Allah gave us, He did not give anyone else: He made praise of the Prophet (s) wajib on us. Allah and all the angels praised him; how many angels praised the Prophet (s) and how many angels did Allah create we don’t know, but all of them are under the order to praise Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:56)

Allah did not say ‘one angel’ or ‘some angels’, He said, Allah wa malaa’ikatahu, “Allah and all His angels,” and He ordered the Believers to do the same! We are lucky, Allah turned this dunya us into a Heaven! You might ask why. Every association like this, where we are sitting Allah turned into a Garden of Paradise because of that Hadith of the Prophet (s):

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: إذا مررتم برياض الجنة فارتع. قالو وما رياض الجنة؟ قال "حلق الذكر"

Ibn `Umar reported that the Prophet (s) said: "When you pass by the Gardens of Paradise, avail yourselves of them." The Companions asked: "What are the Gardens of Paradise, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "The circles of dhikr.” (Tirmidhi)

When you are passing by any group of people who are sitting making dhikrullah, then sit with them as that becomes a paradise, hilaaq adh-dhikr, which, according to that Hadith, if we say this gathering is a part of Paradise then how can we be in Hellfire, will Allah make Paradise to be in Hellfire? Allah will not punish you, He will reward you because He turned your circle into a Paradise and in every 24 hours there are people all around the world making dhikrullah! Allah (swt) said to Prophet (s) in a Holy Hadith:

أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي

I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsiyy. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)

“I am sitting,” not in the physical sense, but it means, “I am manifesting My Name there and I mention the name of those who make dhikr in My Presence!” Allah mentioned the name of the Prophet (s) in the Divine Presence when He wrote on the `Arsh, ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah,’ the Shahadah is not complete without saying “Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah.” Allah gave that honor to the Prophet (s) and honored the people by the him!

May Allah bring us back together as we are in days of fitna and we ask not to be among those people of fitna, The Prophet (s) said there are going to be lots of confusion like big chunks of dark nights.

There will be turmoil like a chunk of dark nights.

At night, when you look at the sky and don’t see sky, nor sun, moon or stars, you don’t feel at ease. The Prophet (s) said fitna on Earth will be like that, chunks of darkness. At that time stay at home. May Allah make your job peaceful places. Keep to yourself, run away from fitna, don’t trouble yourself, keep to yourself and go home, don’t bother with anyone. These are instructions from the Prophet (s) to the Muslims and to everyone, and he (s) also said:

الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ

The one sitting is better than the one standing. (Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash`aree, Abu Dawud)

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati ‘l-habeeb bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah.
