Prophet (s) Dresses You According to the Salawaat You Recite

Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

Mawlid an-Nabi (s) | Centre of Spiritual & Cultural Advancement (CSCA)

We, all of us, are not claiming we have `ibadaah, but we are begging, “Yaa Rabbee, we are weak servants! If you don't dress us, who will? If Prophet (s) doesn't dress us, who will? If Awliyaullah don't dress us, who will? We, ourselves, from our `amal? Our `amal is not important! It is thumma amanu, thumma kafaru, one day on the track and the next day off the track. Therefore, there is no urgency for Awliyaullah to give you these sacred secrets until you are ready. May Allah (swt) open for us. Such events do not depend on `ilm, such gatherings don’t require a diploma to pass from one class to another as they take you directly to the Divine Presence, because it's `ibaadah. Prophet (s) said:

Seek knowledge even if you must go to China. (Bayhaqi)

It means even if knowledge is far away, try to get it. Here ‘knowledge’ means `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen, the Knowledge of Firsts and Lasts that Allah gave to Prophet (s), which he gives to Awliyaullah: seek that knowledge. It cannot be found in books; even if you read millions of books it won’t take you except to what you are reading about. What is important is that Awliyaullah want their followers to be with them.

Three days before Sayyidina Shaykh Sharafuddin ad-Daghestani (q) died, he wrote his will, called Shaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q) and said, “I am leaving dunya, and I want you to carry the responsibility of the followers.” That is our understanding, but what he meant by ‘followers’ is the whole Ummah, not only the followers, because every Wali is like a turban with so many jewels. Every Wali comes in a specific association like these sittings, and there might be a Wali here who puts a gem on your turban. They complete it. In one day, 124,000 Awliya go all around the entire Ummat an-Nabi (s) to put jewels. Their work is spiritual, it’s not from a book.

So they found one of Our Servants on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Own Presence. (Surat al-Kahf, 18:65)

He said, “I want to pass you that responsibility from Prophet (s),” because when Awliyaullah need something they request an answer from Prophet (s), who then appears to them either in a dream or by spirituality and answers them. The evidence is in the book of Sayyidi Ismail al-Bukhari, Kitaab al-Ahadith. When he compiled it, for every Hadith he asked Prophet (s) if what he was writing was correct or not, and the answer came to him from Prophet (s) either in a dream or vision, which is very well known. Awliyaullah have that power.

He said, “I have to give you this amaanah,” of the Ummah, to take care of them. Shaykh `AbdAllah ad-Daghestani (q) said, “Yaa Sayyidi Shaykh Sharafuddin, I cannot carry that responsibility and I don't want it. Can you spare me such a thing?”

Shaykh Sharafuddin said, “I’ve never heard of a Wali saying such a thing (because when they say “I will carry,” Allah gives support).

Grandshaykh said, “I cannot take it.”

Shaykh Sharafuddin (q) was not happy, but he knew there was something secret in what Grandshaykh `AbdAllah (q) was mentioning. What was hidden was further mentioned by Grandshaykh, “Yaa Sayyidi, there are so many Awliyas and what have they achieved in their life to give their mureeds?” Every shaykh gives his followers awraad to recite, their followers recite it. In every Tariqah, we do the awraad of the shuyookh because they know better than us.

Grandshaykh (q) said, “If one of the mureeds who took baya` went astray, if one day he does his awraad, one day he doesn't, how can I be happy to see Shaytan take my mureed away? Can you provide me an assurance against Shaytan playing with my mureeds?

Shaykh Sharafuddin (q) said, “This must be asked.”

He returned to Grandshaykh (q) the next day after receiving confirmation through a dream that, “Yes, if he accepts we will support him,” meaning he will have the power to spiritually raise up to his level anyone who sits in his association regardless of him doing his awraad or not.

Grandshaykh (s) said, “He (the follower) has confidence in us because he came to the Tariqah, he is a Muslim, he prays his five prayers with Shari`ah order, he does his awraad and, therefore, we guarantee that he will not be dropped from our presence, we will be always with them. I cannot accept my mureeds being far away from me. Even if someone sits with me for five minutes, as mentioned in the Holy Hadith of Prophet (s) that if a person comes and sits in a meeting like this circle, even if he was not coming for dhikrullah but only to see a friend from whom he needs something, Allah said to Prophet (s) in the Holy Hadith, ‘I will forgive that person and raise him with the other mureeds.’”

Awliyaullah don’t depend on books, because in their meetings their focus is to lift their followers up; that is what is required from them. They know they cannot guarantee their followers will not follow Shaytan, as even Sayyidina Adam (a) listened to what Shaytan said. So Grandshaykh (q) insisted, “Shaytan might come at any moment and steal these mureeds, so I want a guarantee they will be with me. If you can give me that, I will accept the responsibility.”

The next day after Fajr, Shaykh Sharafuddin (q) came to Shaykh `AbdAllah ad-Daghestani (q) and said, “Abshir, good tidings! Your du`a is accepted, they will give you that power!”

This power is going to be with Imam Mahdi (a): when he comes, all knowledge and the highest level of Shari`ah will be through him. In that time, if you have a book of two-hundred pages you want to read, as soon as you look at the book you will understand everything in it, not like today. Awliyaullah have explained that `ilm will be spread like an atomic chain reaction: one can give immediately from his eyes to their eyes, like a group message: you press one button and your message will reach a million people in one second. Can’t Awliyaullah spread their knowledge in people’s hearts in one second? If a computer in dunya can do that, what about in Akhirah, Heavens, can they not do that? Depending on his level, can’t a Wali press a button and reach everyone around the Earth? Yes, that is the real knowledge! The computer is a great proof that one button, which means one Wali, can reach millions of people in one second.

Grandshaykh (q) said, “If I have that, I accept. Then I can raise them all to my level.”

Say alhamdulillah that we have reached the time of the Signs of Last Days, which so many people are discussing around the world. As I said yesterday:

يوشك أن يأتي على الناس زمان لا يبقى من الإسلام إلا اسمه

There will come a time upon a people when nothing remains from Islam except its name. (Bayhaqi)

Because there is no one that can claim he can press the button to reach everyone; today there are no such Awliyaullah to be seen, they are hiding. When Imam Mahdi (a) comes, he will clean everything. then , when you read Qur’an it won’t be like today, we will get that real knowledge f the Holy Qur’an through our hearts. When you say “Alif ,” you will understand something. Alif. Laam. Meem. Alif is the Absolute Creator, Allah: His Name begins by Alif, Ismu ’l-Jalaala. Alif is always standing.

Alif. Laam. Laam refers to the knowledge Jibreel (a) keeps to reveal to Prophet (s): from Allah to Jibreel (a), from Jibreel (a) to Prophet (s). That’s why the Meem comes at the end. Alif is for Allah (swt), The Absolute Creator, The Absolute Secret, The Absolute Knowledge that He has, He creates. That Alif is known through the hearts of Awliyaullah, because Prophet (s) gave them something to understand. Jibreel (a) is Laam and Meem is Muhammad (s). We read it as one Meem, but in reality it is two Meems and between both of them is Yaa, which in grammar is Alif. Li saa`atun maʿ Allah wa saaʿatun maʿ al-khalq, “I have one face with dunya people and I have one face with Allah (swt).”

I have one hour with Allah and one hour with Creation. (Risalah Qushayriyya by Imam al-Qushayri)

We don't want to go deep into this discussion, but we have to know that Sayyidina Musa (a) went to Sayyidina Khidr (a) to seek knowledge. Fawajada `abdan min `ibaadina aataynaahu rahmatan min `indina wa `allamnaahu min ladunna `ilma, when he was seeking the knowledge, Allah said, “He found someone from one of Our servants.” [See page 1.] Sayyidina Musa found a servant of Allah from among many that are hidden, whom Sayyidina Musa and Sayyidina Khidr (a) didn't know. This is what we say: there are 124,000 Awliyaullah. Fawajadaa `abdan min `ibaadina, aataynaahu rahmatan min `indina, in order to understand we have wear the dress of rahmah, which is Prophet (s)! When you are dressed with the dress of Prophet (s) through salawaat on him (s), he will give you a dress that befits the salawaat you are reciting, then you will open for the robe of mercy that Prophet (s) will grant you, and be able to enter the heavenly knowledge.

Awliyaullah take from these knowledges, that’s why Prophet (s) mentioned in the Hadith Qudsi that Allah (swt) said:

My servant does not cease to approach Me through voluntary worship until I will love him. When I love him, I will become the ears with which he hears, the eyes with which he sees, the hand with which he acts, and the legs with which he walks (and other versions include, “and the tongue with which he speaks.”). (Hadith Qudsi, Bukhari)

Anyone around the world who loves Allah and Prophet (s), let them know that they have secrets carried to them by angels that are ready to be delivered, but they want these obstacles between them to disappear. We need to be very clean people who thank Allah (swt).

If you thank Me, I will give you more. (Surah Ibraaheem, 14:7)

May Allah give us more. This Mawlid is not ordinary, this year the Seven Heavens and Jannat al-Firdaws are being opened and decorated with the name of Prophet (s), not one name, but an infinite number of names! Awliyaullah have been looking for this for a long time and it is going to happen tonight inshaa-Allah, like in the time of Mecca and Madinah. That door is open, so enter and don’t hesitate, ask forgiveness and Allah (swt) will forgive us, for the love of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! If we made any mistake against anyone, all around the world we are asking forgiveness, we are seeking love, we are seeking peace. May Allah dress us with that, dress us with Awliyaullah, dress us from the Divinely Power, keep us in the Divine Oceans of Power that is always melting through the Ocean of the Turning Power, Bahr al-Qudrah! From that turning it melts and from its condensation, one drop can give you knowledge until Yawm al-Qiyamah!

Awliyaullah are waiting for that moment, may Allah bless us with it! Inshaa-Allah tonight is a night of enjoyment and we want to enjoy the recitation of Mawlid an-Nabi (s) and do some qasidas.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

If I say these chocolates are one pound each, will you buy it? [Yes!] If I say these chocolates are fifty pound each, will you buy it? [Yes!] So take it for free!

This story of Grandshaykh `AbdAllah (q) gives us an important example, about Haroon ar-Rashid and his brother Bahlul, who is buried in Damascus and is one of the greatest Awliya. Sayyid Bahlul always lived outside the palace by the main door of the fence in the Iraq desert, and he played in the sand. One day he was playing with straw, building homes like a castles, when Haroon ar-Rashid’s wife passed by him.

She said to him, “Yaa Bahlul, what are you doing?”

He said, “I am buying palaces in Heaven.”

She said, “They are straws.”

He said, “Okay, they are straws.”

She felt bad for him and said, “How much? Can you sell it to me?”

He said, “Yes.”

She said, “How much do you want?”

He said, “Ten golden coins.”

She said, “Okay,” and gave him ten golden coins.

At night she showed her husband what she bought from Bahlul and he laughed at her, saying, “You and your Bahlul are both crazy! What is he selling? Palaces in Heaven? I don't believe in such foolishness!”

She gave Bahlul the ten golden coins and he disappeared. The next day, Haroon ar-Rashid was going out of the palace and saw Bahlul putting the straws together.

He said, “Bahlul, do you want to sell these things?”

He said, “Yes, if you want to buy them I will sell to you.”

“How much?” asked Haroon ar-Rashid.

“Five-thousand golden coins.”

“What? Yesterday you sold it for ten golden coins and now you want five-thousand golden coins?”

He said, “Yes! Yesterday your wife believed in the Unseen, she accepted, but you saw the dream.”

The previous night, Haroon ar-Rashid had seen a dream of his wife entering Paradise but he was not. When asked why, the angels said, “Because he doesn't have a palace in Paradise, so kick him out!” That's why he wanted to buy a guarantee his place in Paradise.

Now, what is the difference between these two chocolates? This one has been read on. When you read on something seven Fatihah, Prophet (s) said:

الْفَاتِحَةُ لِمَا قُرِئَتْ لَهُ

The Chapter of the Opening is for whatever it is read. (Hadith)

You can read it for anything. These two chocolates are the same, but one with Fatihah read on it and the other one without Fatihah, so which is better? If I tell you this chocolate has been read on with Fatihah and it costs one-hundred pounds, will you take it? [Yes!] It means take everything that relates to Allah and his Prophet (s), don’t question!

Each person will be resurrected with the one he loves. (Tabarani)

So if we love Prophet (s) we will be with Prophet (s), if we love Awliyaullah we will be with Awliyaullah, if you love candies, you take candies! [Laughter.]

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
