Prophet (s) is in You

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

Centre for Spiritual & Cultural Advancement (CSCA)(2)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.

Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

Allahumma salli 'alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin wa 'alaa aali Muhammadin wa sallim. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-'Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu 'alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa 'alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. We human beings are very fragile, because anything can affect us and we cannot change it; if Allah wants something to happen, the jinn or ins cannot change what He Wills.

Say: ‘If the whole of Mankind and jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.

(al-Israa, 17:88)

Allah’s iraada (will) is above everything. Awliyaullah know the Reality of everything, Prophet (s) gave them what they need to guide the Ummah. He gave many secrets to the hearts of Sahaabah (r) and they became like stars in the dark nights, as the Prophet (s) said:

أصحابي كالنجوم بأيهم اقتديتم اهتديتم

My Companions are like stars (on a dark night); whichever of them you follow, you will be guided.

(`Abd ibn Humayd, ad-Daraqutnee, ibn `Adiyy, ibn `Abd al-Barr, with unsound chains but the meaning is sound.)

May Allah guide us to the right way. I am seeing someone taking notes, which is good, because you know what you have written and you can take ibrah, a lesson from what you wrote. When you say something on the livestream broadcast, it is registered and many people can look at it any time. If you keep the live broadcast running it will never stop; even the smallest movement, such as running your finger through your beard, is registered. If you leave something, you can always look back and check on it because it is there, which is not good. We are on a 24-hour livestream: angels are looking at us recording everything, big or small. Still, there is one thing good: they erase whatever sin you have done by you making one istighfaar, they don't keep it, as if it is:

وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَى مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاء مَّنثُورًا

And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. (Surat al-Furqaan, 25:23)

Allah will order the angels to erase the entire page of what we have done! For every day and night, there is a page full of what we have done, but Allah will erase what He likes. We ask Allah to erase our sins and to keep us under the protection of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! That livestream becomes such that if you make one istighfaar it erases all your sins, but that camera will not erase what you have done in the past 24 hours, even if you make one-hundred or one-thousand istighfaar. Allah is lenient with what He created from the Light of the Prophet (s). When the Prophet (s) was asked what Allah created first, he answered, “It was the Light of your Prophet (s) yaa Jaabir.”

When Jaabir (r) asked, “Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you, oh Prophet of Allah! What is the first thing that Allah (swt) created?” the Prophet (s) said, “The first thing that Allah (swt) created is the Light of your Prophet from His Light, O Jaabir.” (Musannaf `Abdu ’r-Razzaq)

What is that Noor an-Nabi (s)? Is it the light of the camera or these lamps? There was nothing: no Heavens, no `Arsh, no Kursi, no Earth, no skies, no Sun and no Moon. The Light of the Prophet (s) is the first thing Allah (swt) created. When Allah made the Prophet (s) witness all Creation big and small, that is a livestream!

So they found one of Our Servants on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Own Presence. (Surat al-Kahf, 18:65)

Allah gave all the heavenly knowledge to Prophet (s): that is what is meant by “`Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen,” Allah gave him the heavenly livestream of Before and After. What is the ‘Before’? Yes, it is the five-thousand years between Sayyidina Adam, Sayyidina Nuh, Sayyidina Ibrahim, Sayyidina Musa, and Sayyidina `Isa (`alayhimu ‘s-salaam), but that is not all, there is something hidden.

My Lord perfected my good manners and conduct. (Ibn `Asakir)

As Allah perfected him (s) in good manners and behaviors, He also gave him `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen. What did He teach him? When you go to the hospital for surgery, you prepare ahead, you don’t just go and tell them to cut you immediately, but you make sure to do it step-by-step. Allah gave to the Prophet (s) directly by Kun fa-yakoon, and Awliyaullah are Inheritors from the Prophet (s) from `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen. Without going too deep, our situation is such that we have done too many bad things in our lives: lying, cheating, deceiving, hating, creating fitna, rumors and backbiting, nothing else. Is Allah in need of our prayers? No, our prayers are for us to be blessed! If they are good then alhamdulillah, and if they are not good then alhamdulillah that Allah (swt) will erase them and make better prayers from our imitational, impure prayers.

As soon as we say “Allahu Akbar,” we are at a loss because Shaytan immediately whispers gossip in your ears. Can you stop that? No! [Phone rings.] That is evidence and an example of a livestream. SubhaanAllah, every time I hold Holy Qur’an in my hand to read, the telephone begins to ring non-stop and as soon as I finish, it stops ringing. They interrupt you and Allah answers Iblees and his army, “Never mind, if you want to interrupt Ummat an-Nabi (s) then go ahead! I will punish you, so don’t think you will ever be victorious over them!” How can they be when the Prophet (s) is watching us?

My life is a great good for you: you relate from and narrations are related to you and my death contains good for you as well, for I observe the `amal of my Ummah. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see other than that, bad, I ask forgiveness for you. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)

Prophet (s) is always alive. “I observe the `amal of my Ummah,” whether they are alive or not, but Prophet (s) is always alive.

And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)

Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur’an, “I will never punish them as long as you are in them.”

But Allah would not punish them while you were present in their midst. Nor does Allah punish people while they are asking His forgiveness. (Surat al-Anfal, 8:33)

Allah said, “As long as you are in them, and when they are making istighfaar, I will not punish them.” So He made istighfaar necessary, as it is equal to the Prophet’s (s) Presence. That is why He said:

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا

If they had only, when they were unjust (oppressor) to themselves, come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:64)

“If only when they had oppressed themselves they had come to you, yaa Muhammad, and asked Allah’s forgiveness and the Prophet (s) would have asked forgiveness for them, and they would have found Allah tawwaba ‘r-raheema.” Prophet (s) is observing and checking on every one, by name, with `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen. He gave him what is necessary for the appearance of this dunya, to know about the creation of Heavens and Earth, and the creation of humans, jinn and angels. We can easily say that human beings are limited in number compared to jinn.

Who imitates a group of people are from them. (Abu Dawood)

So when you imitate angels in dhikrullah, they will give you a heavenly lift to elevate you in your spirituality and become an angel. Hinduism, Buddhism or any other “ism” cannot raise you to be an angel except Islam, through the love of Prophet (s). None but Ummat an-Nabi (s) will appear on the Day of Judgment dressed with such angelic powers that other Nations will not believe they are human beings, but angels. Allah will dress them with angelic power from their love of Prophet (s).

Allahu Akbar! May Allah keep us under the flag of the Prophet (s). What did Allah give him? `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen. It means whatever Allah has created before the creation of the universes, He taught that to Prophet (s). Noor-i-Muhammadi, the Light of Muhammad (s) was the first to be created by Allah (swt). That was the Key to open every other Creation.

He created angels, jinn, humans and all the universe, and the Prophet (s) was watching and knowing. As Grandshaykh (q) said that when Allah placed the Light of the Prophet (s) in Bahr al-Qudrah, it began turning. Bahr al-Qudrah is the Ocean of Power and from which everything appears. This Hadith is also narrated by ibn Asakir (r). When Allah placed that Light in that Ocean of Power, it began to turn and turn, then all of Creation began to appear. The first to appear was the `Arsh. Allah’s `Arsh was on water.

And His Throne on the water. (Hud, 11:7)

Which water, bottled water? Everything living and non-living is created from water.

We made from water every living thing. (Al-Anbiya, 21:30)

That is for us, but in reality it means from Bahr al-Qudrah. Allah said that His `Arsh was on the water. What kind of water is suiting the `Arsh and the One Who is bestowed on the `Arsh? That water must be exceptional, not normal, like the rain. No prophet or Wali knows about that water, except Rasoolullah (s), because Allah gave him the Secret of Ismullah al-`Azham, Allah’s Greatest Name. All anbiya were asking Allah to give them the Secret of the Greatest Name which no one knows except Sayyidina Muhammad (s), which is what Sayyidina Musa (a) asked for:

He said, "O my Lord! Show Yourself to me, that I may look upon You." Allah said, "By no means can you see Me (directly), but look upon the mountain; if it abides in its place, then you shall see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the mount, He made it as dust, and Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses, he said, "Glory be to You! To You I return in repentance, and I am the first to believe." (Surat al-`Araaf, 7:143)

He asked, “Let me look at You,” but he wasn't given that key. Allah (swt) said, “If the mountain stays in its place when I manifest the Beautiful Name of Mercy on it, then you shall see Me.” The mountain shattered, but the heart of the Prophet (s) never shattered!

Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily you would have seen it humble itself and shatter for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes that We propound to men that they may reflect.

(Surat al-Hashr, 59:21)

“Had We revealed the Qur’an on a mountain (meaning the entire universe, the greatest thing created) it would have shattered. “Jabal” here means everything created: if Allah manifests His Ismullah al-`Azham on anything He created, it would shatter from the power of that Name, but the heart of the Prophet (s) didn’t shatter, it remained steadfast, standing firm and unshattered. Only he was able to do so, which is why Allah showed him `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen, because Holy Qur’an is alive and can talk. The Holy Qur’an repeats every word or letter from the ayah you recite. This is because qur’anun naatiqee, the Holy Qur'an is ever-living, always talking to the one who is reading. Awliyaullah can detect 24,000 oceans of knowledge in every letter. That is why `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen is without limits and Allah gave it to Prophet (s).

Allah will never punish us as long as the Prophet (s) is with us, and he is always with us! So punishment is taken away from those who praise the Prophet (s) and make istighfaar. SubhaanAllah, how can it be that someone makes just one istighfaar a day and their entire livestream changes from sayyi`aat to hasanaat? So angels don't know what to write. Allah orders them to wait 24 hours from the time a person commits a sin, then if they make istighfaar the angels erase everything and if they do not, then Prophet (s) will make istighfaar on their behalf, in order to save his Ummah. This is because when you have children, you do not leave them by themselves. Allah (swt) created us and loves us. He wants us to make istighfaar in order to save us. So be happy with what Allah gave you, as He said:

قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His Mercy, in that let them rejoice.” That is better than the (wealth) they hoard. (Surat Yunus, 10:58)

Be happy, don't always be sad and serious! “Be happy that because of your Prophet (s), I am giving your key to him on your behalf for free.” That is why Prophet (s) gave to Awliyaullah. Allah gave to the Prophet (s) what Prophet gave to Sayyidina `Ali (r).

I am the City of Knowledge and `Ali is its Door (or Gate). (al-Haakim, Tirmidhi)

Who is inside that city? Haqaa`iq wa anwaar Bani Adam, `utiyya li, “I am the City of Knowledge,” means he knows everything that Allah (swt) put from His Ismullah and `Alim, as He is All-Knowing. That is why Prophet (s) is that City of Knowledge and `Ali (r) is its Door. The Prophet (s) gave the knowledge to four individuals in his time: Sayyidina `Ali, Sayyidina `Uthman, Sayyidina `Umar, and Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r). No one can claim to be khalifah except for these four and the a’immat Ahlu ’l-Bayt. If you love the Ahlu ’l-Bayt you will be saved, regardless of the confusion in the Ummah, whatever they say about this and that, and you must respect and love everyone. Sayyidina Jafar as-Sadiq (r), one of great Awliya of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, took his lineage from two Companions, Sayyidina `Ali and Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r).

So that Madinat al-`Ilm was given to the Prophet (s) and from him it was given to the Khulafa ar-Raashidoon, to the Sahaabah, and then to the `ulama al-Ummah up to this day, and knowledge never ends. That is why in the grave they will grant us to know everything and why we ask Allah to make our grave a paradise. In fact, this dunya is a grave, a prison for us. Inshaa-Allah when we go to Akhirah, Allah will give us the best. You are coming to such events and inshaa-Allah they will not leave us without their support. May Allah support us and empower us with His Love.

What else has been created from Bahr al-Qudrah? Wa`lamoo anna feekum Rasoolullah (s). “He is in you and among you,” and giving you from the Knowledge that he is receiving from `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ’l-Akhireen! Still, the Prophet (s) is ascending in Bahr al-Qudrah and Allah’s Creation is being created. What kind of Creation? Is it limited only to human beings? No, Allah is al-Khaliq in every moment, continuously creating. We know there are seven-billion human beings on Earth. Do you think that is it? Allah is creating more Creations that He did not mention except to the Prophet (s)!

May Allah bless us and turn this night into a blessed night and forgive us our sins. We invite every Muslim and mu’min to this ma’ida, the table of Prophet (s). We ask every Creation that did not receive the Muhammadan Light to come. We welcome them to be dressed with the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) that he dressed Awliyaullah with. Awliya are waiting for those who never recited the Shahaadah. May Allah inspire them to do so and may He save them and guide them. What is most important is to make istighfaar before you sleep and Allah will erase all your sins.

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi-hurmati 'l-Fatihah. As-salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.
