Jumu`ah Khutbah with Our Sultan al-Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

28 February 2014 Lefke, Cyprus

Suhbah after Jumu`ah

(Suhbah begins at 39:07.)

Every movement, everything in this universe is moving, nothing is still, as everything must move. This universe is moving, stars are moving, galaxies are moving in a vacuum that no one knows where they are going at a speed 300,000 km/second. You cannot feel it, like in a plane the plane is moving at 1,000 km/hour, and the universe is moving at a speed of 300,000 km/second, at the speed of light. It means the light from the Moon comes to Earth in one second and the Sun is farther down. All that in the galaxy is moving, and Grandshaykh `AbdAllah, may Allah bless his soul, said, and this is for me and for everyone, that if a wali moved his finger, he did so with a wisdom, not for scratching his head and even if he scratches his head there must be a wisdom from that movement.

And Grandshaykh (q) mentioned the story of Sayyidina Khwaja `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q). One time he was sitting with his followers and it was very cold at that time and they were eating together on the floor, as is the sunnah to sit on the floor and the food is raised a little bit above the ground, and he threw it and they were looking at him. He said, “After four hours you will know why I did that.” The nearest village to Khwaja `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q), where he lived in Merv, on the mountain. He used to do his dhikr in his well that he had dug and today it is still existing. When he wanted to do his awraad he would go in the well inside the water and do his dhikr and when he needed to breathe he would go up and breathe and then go down again.

How are we doing dhikr today? Watching videos! It is nonsense, but anyway, it is still good as we are imitating. They asked him, “Why are you doing that?”

He said, “Because Shaytan cannot approach in water as he is from fire so he will be extinguished. That is why I do dhikr underwater and when I need to breathe I go up and then I go back down and continue the dhikr.”

He said, continuing with the story, “After four hours you will know why I was throwing the apple,” and after exactly four hours, in the other village...you know at that time there were no cars or anything, it was either walking or riding on a horse or on a donkey or on a mule, and they know that was the speed, and it was four hours walking time from that village.

The man came and said, “Yaa Sayyidee.” ... It means anyone who will be called for Judgment will be punished for sure.

من حوسب عذب

Man hoosiba `udhdhib.

Who will be judged will be punished for sure. (Bukhari)

Allah will bring for him hundreds of things that he will be punished for, not one thing, because there are many hidden things that we don't know that it is wrong; might be we do it and it is wrong, and we do many things that are wrong and we know it is wrong. So that is why the Prophet (s) said to Sayyida `Ayesha, “Whoever is accounted will be punished.”

الدين نصيحة

Ad-deenu naseeha.

Religion is advice.

No naseeha, no religion! What do awliyaullah do? They give advice to their followers, following the footsteps of the Prophet (s). So we go back to Sayyidina Khawaja `Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q). He said, “When Azra`eel was coming, I saw him coming with punishment so I took one apple, I threw it up,” and that means ‘go back,’ don’t take my mureed's soul with punishment. Go back, bring rahmat and come. “I threw the second one,” that is the sign of rahmat coming, “and my mureed went into it with mercy.”

By shafa`ah of the Prophet (s).... He doesn't cry for nothing, for nonsense. Grandshaykh, when he was...sometimes you can see the similarity between both of them: he used to cry a lot, tears came. Those tears means mercy is coming from his feeling. When you feel something nice you cry, when you feel something not nice you cry. They cry when they see something not nice to change it to nice, and then they cry because they are happy that thing has changed. That kind of shaykh, Allah has granted us and honored us to be with him inshaa-Allah in dunya and Akhirah! So every movement, he does take from it example and take from it something beneficial to benefit you.

As we said, all of these 6,000 galaxies, they found they are moving. Every cell of your body is moving by shafa` ah of an-Nabi (s), shafa`ah of awliya to go to Paradise. Why are we coming here, for what reason? To show love. That love is what will save us in Akhirah. Showing love to Mawlana Shaykh means to show love to each other, so don’t criticize each other. When you do that it is like you have no love to Mawlana Shaykh, because every mureed is a jewel on the turban of the shaykh. If one jewel is missing, the turban will not look nice.

The Prophet (s) said:

عن ‏ ‏أبي هريرة ‏ ‏رضي الله عنه ‏أن رسول الله ‏ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ ‏قال ‏ ‏إياكم والظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث ولا تحسسوا ولا تجسسوا ولا ‏ ‏تناجشوا ‏ ‏ولا تحاسدوا ولا تباغضوا ولا تدابروا وكونوا عباد الله إخوانا.

Beware of suspicion, for it is the worst of false tales and don't look for the other's faults and don't spy and don't hate each other, and don't desert (cut your relations with) one another. O Allah's slaves! Be brothers! (Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, Bukhari)

Don’t speak bad about others, don’t spy on each other, don’t find faults, and don’t make gheebah and nameemah, backbiting and slander, but be brothers and sisters for Allah’s Sake, for Prophet’s (s) sake and for Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s sake!

And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you would abhor it. (Surat al-Hujurat, 49:12)

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah. As-salaamu `alaykum.
