A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajim. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Welcome! I am sorry that my place is too small for my honorable guests. I am speaking now like the president of the United Nations, looking at everyone (with eyeglasses) to see if they are good ones. The president of the United Nations begins to speak and after two words he must clear his throat! (laughter)
Welcome to you! Everyone is thinking something special for themselves. And I am saying, Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem, “In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful.” Every believer is addressing the Creator through their own language and according to their respect to the Creator.
SubhaanAllah, there might be about 60 or 70 people here right now. I am a very weak servant, but the Lord of Heavens is asking His servants to come and visit me. I don’t know why, there must be a secret, a heavenly purpose from the Lord of Heavens. Today is the first day of the beginning of a heavenly calendar. There are different calendars: the Jewish have the Abrani calendar, Christians have the Gregorian calendar, Muslims have an Islamic calendar, and other religions have other kinds of calendars.
However, there is also another calendar that belongs to heavenly orders, such as Sha`ban and Laylatu ’l-Bara`ah. And tonight is Laylatu ’l-Bara`ah, a very holy night for Muslims all around the world. It is mentioned in holy books, the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Holy Qur’an, that in this night, the Lord of Heavens arranges everything that is going to happen from today to the next year. Therefore, we are saying it is the Calendar of the Heavens.
SubhaanAllah, you are coming in the most sacred and holy night for Mankind. Tonight, God will write the names of those who will be born and who will pass away this year. Some people will come and some will go.
It is my belief that nothing on Earth is happening without a heavenly reason or a heavenly order. But now people, subhaanAllah, glory to Allah, all forgot their spirituality and are running after their physical beings and its enjoyment and pleasure. There is no other aim for people except to ask to live in good conditions. Everyone is running for the pleasure of their physical beings and nothing else. That is the main reason for troubles, sufferings, and fighting on this planet.
The Lord of Heavens is saying, “O People! Look to Me!” But people are saying, “No! We are looking at Earth.” Therefore, they lost their real missions. “Who am I?” no one can answer. “For what reason am I here?” no one is answering. Common people say, “We are only here to eat, drink, and have sexual pleasure,” nothing else! To only think about eating, drinking, and sexuality is the level of animals.
Our identity is not the same as that of animals! It is written in holy books, that the Lord of Heavens created Man to be His deputy on this planet. Is this true or not? The Lord of Heavens gave you a personality with countless shapes. No two men or women are exactly the same, and even if they are the same physically, spiritually they are very different. Your way of thinking is not the same as others. Everyone has a special aim and is running for it. We are not angels; our creation is very exceptional. The Lord of Heavens created Adam (a) to be His deputy and we are created from him. What does “deputy” mean? Kings cannot be without a deputy. A crown prince is the deputy of the king. The Lord of Heavens is giving that honor to Mankind.
When the Lord of Heavens sought to create Man, He declared it to the angels, who said, “O our Lord! Why are you not giving that honor to us? We have only occupied ourselves with your praising and glorifying. Why are you creating a new Creation to be your deputy?”
Allah said, “I know, and You do not know!”
The Lord of Heavens created Adam (a) and ordered all angels, “Bow down to Adam because he is My deputy. If you are bowing to him, you are bowing to Me.” Only the devil was not happy to bow down to Adam. The Lord of Heavens said, “Who are you to come and object on My order? I am the Creator! I am ordering you to bow!”
The devil said, “I am not bowing!”
The Lord of Heaven said, “Kick that one out of My Divine Presence!”
At that time that the center of evil began with the devil, “Shaytan,” who is our most terrible enemy, making people to always quarrel and fight, never to be happy. Therefore, the Lord of Heavens kept sending prophets who warned, “O people! Be with me, don’t be with your egos.” “Ego” is nafs. Don’t be with your ego because it is with the devil. Prophets said, “Look, listen, and obey me. If you are not obeying and following shaytanic ways, you will be regretful.”
O People! You are here now at the beginning of this New Year, and this year is loaded like a train loaded with wagons. Each wagon contains special things that should happen. Therefore, there are too many similar events. Everyone reads the newspaper daily. I ask, “Why are you reading the newspaper?”
They answer, “Everyday there is fresh news.”
You are following that fresh news and an opening will come to you either of happiness or unhappiness, of honor or dishonor, to leave or not to leave.
According to prophets’ declarations in holy books, today is a new beginning. If I am going to speak to you, I will not get tired as my capacity is enough to speak from one year to the next. You cannot stop heavenly knowledge. We don’t like to ask anything, but they are sending this and we may speak to teach people. All of the prophets were teachers of righteousness, not evil, but Shaytan teaches every worst kind of evil. May Allah forgive us!
O People! I am happy that you came to visit. I am now climbing to 100 years of age and all of you are like my grandchildren. Alhamdulillah, my heart is okay. I am thanking you and I know Who sent you to me. You cannot come here by your own will. Heavenly order is making you come here.

Rabbi: Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, you mentioned calendars in the beginning. There is another kind of calendar, of every human being’s life. So we all hope that as the calendar of our own lives unfold, we will understand the reason we were granted to be with you this afternoon. We are grateful to you. Also, in my tradition, the reason that human beings are deputies of God and not angels is that human beings have will; angels do not have a will. And so we are grateful that you used your decision to meet with us, spend time with us, and again, I say we don’t want to tire you. We are grateful to you.
Mawlana Shaykh: I am retired! I have so much time! (Laughter) Thank you for coming. May God protect you and bless you, here and Hereafter. Please pray for me, I am getting old. And please accept something to eat and drink. Thank you.
