Kalimataan khafeetataan `ala al-lisaan thaqeelataan fil-meezaan subhanallah wa bi hamdihi subhanallah al-`azheem istaghfirullah.

Prophet Muḥammad, (pbuh) said: Two phrases are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, and are loved by the Most Merciful: subhaan allahi wa bi hamdihi, subhaan allahi ’l-`azheem.

A`oodhu billah mina ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu 'alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa 'alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.

We are trying to shed light on the Ahadeeth of the Prophet (s) relating to the Last Days and we mentioned through this series of these Ahadeeth, many of them, but still there are a lot more. We are mentioning those that are not scary regarding what is going to happen in the Last Days; we are trying to be lenient soft, so:

While Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-`Aas was with people around the Prophet (s), they mentioned the fitna to him. He said, “if you see people have confused their contracts and taken lightly their trusts, and they are like his” - he crossed his fingers. I stood up and said to him, “O Messenger of God, when that happens what should I do? He said, “Stay at home, hold your tongue, take what is right, and leave what is wrong, you only have to look after those close to you, stay away from the masses.”

(Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah, Ahmad)

Amr ibn al`Aas (r) was with some people and they mentioned to them what Prophet (s) told them would happen of confusions, fitna, in the Last Days, and he said: idha ra'ayta ‘n-naas qad murji`at “when you see the people mixed up in everything and there is no more focus on one issue, they are going to split,” khaffat amaanaatuhum they mixed everything up and their vows and oaths to Allah become weak and everything in dunya mixed up; khaffat amaanaatuhum they begin to lose trust. Now no one trusts his brother, sister, father, mother, everyone trusts himself only because there is too much confusion so they don't trust others. Therefore, because there is too much confusion it is very important that if you hear a matter to check it, and the Prophet (s) said, “Yes they were like that,” and he put his fingers of his two hands together. There will be fitan like that, so mixed up that you cannot get out of it. Now there are big fitan in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon and all Arab countries, and you cannot solve it or loosen it, it is glued together.

Then Sayyidna Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-`Aas (r) said, “I stood up and went to the Prophet (s) and said, ‘Kayfa afa`l `inda dhaalik, What shall I do at that time?’ He (s) said, ‘Ilzam baytak, Stay in your home (sit at home, don't try to argue with anyone, close your door and that’s it), wamsik `alayka lisaanak, and hold your tongue,’” freeze your tongue, don't say anything because whatever you are going to say is going to make fitna and anything you think is not real thinking so you might lose your focus and shift from the real truth, because the tongue is masdar al-fitan, the source of confusion. If you keep silent there is no confusion; that means surrender to Allah. When you close your mouth there is no more confusion as you are not making your tongue move and it is the source of fitna. If you have no tongue you are mute. What are you going to do? No one is going to hear any fitna from you as you cannot create fitna, so be like that and you will be saved!

Qaala alzim baytak, stay at home and hold your tongue, wa khudh maa ta`rif, only do what you know, don’t try to check many other things at same time, focus on your work, focus on your understanding, focus on your behavior and how you are building up your faith in Allah and His Prophet (s) and in His Awliya! Islam is to surrender. What differs us from Awliya? They surrendered and we didn’t surrender. It is so simple! We want to argue and spread fitna and kill each other by raising swords and this morning and yesterday we mentioned the fitna of the swords in the Last Days as foretold by the Prophet (s) and now you see the people using knives and swords, cutting the necks of people.

Wa da` maa tunkir and don't try to do what you are not familiar with. When you say, “Allahu Akbar” in the prayers, Shaytan immediately comes, so remember Shaytan is with you, entering your heart as the Prophet (s) mentioned there is a place in the qalb where Shaytan whispers, then don't focus on what he is saying, because if you do you will get wrong ideas and might get worse and worse and worse. No, don't follow the gossips in your ears! That’s why Prophet (s) said wa khudh maa ta`rif, wa da` maa tankur, “Take what you know and leave the rest,” don't think too much.

I will give an example: in salaat you say “Allahu Akbar” (takbeer) and Shaytan comes and you give your ear, you listen and start thinking, “How much money do I have in the bank?” and you begin to calculate. When that thought comes, say, “Astaghfirullah,” and it will stop, but it will come back, but when you struggle against these thoughts in your self, the first and second week you are not successful, but after one month these gossips will stop. However, if you think, “How much do I have in bank. I have 2,000 and I might have 2,200 because I sold something small yesterday and they may have put it in my account.” Or, “What is my wife doing, whom did she meet, what she did?” Or, “What my husband did?” Shaytan will drag you down. Wa `alayka bi-amri khassatik, “Own yourself,” look after only yourself and do not fall in the trap of Shaytan, and keep together with the closest people, wa iyyaka wa `awaamahum and don't go to the most common people to see what they are doing and what you want to do with them. Don’t think, “Why are they doing that, why can't I do like them?” No, you are special! You are someone who gave your hand to the Prophet (s) to be a Muslim, to be a mu’min; you gave your allegiance to Allah (swt) and to the Prophet (s):

Lo! Those who swear allegiance to you (O Muhammad) swear allegiance only to Allah. The Hand of Allah is above their hands, so whosoever breaks his oath breaks it only to his own soul's harm, while whoever keeps his covenant with Allah, on him will He bestow immense reward. (Surat al-Fath, 48:10)

Allah (swt) is saying to Prophet (s) in the Holy Qur’an, anyone who extended his hand to take baya`, the baya` is with Allah (swt) so be with those who are very close to you and don’t try to listen to what’s on your right and left, from here and there, taking different opinions, gossips, bad thoughts, or then you will fill yourself with confusion. No, say, “Astaghfirullah,” say, “Subhaanallah wa bi hamdihi subhaanallah al-`azheem, astaghfirullah,” and kick that Shaytan away from you!

The Prophet (s) said in another similar, longer Hadith: “I order you to have taqwa. That is my order, not to think too much.” Islam is so simple: it is submission to Allah's Will, then everything will come in order at that time. On Siraat al-Mustaqeem, like a train on a track, it will go straightforward, you will not deviate right nor deviate left. Wa iyyaka wa `awaamahum, Be careful from everyone and what they are doing, do what you want to do by yourself and that is it. `An `aqba ibn `aamir maa ‘n-najaat? Where is the safety? Qaal amsik `alayka lisaanak, Have control of your tongue.

Finished, this is one more Hadith that the Prophet (s) mentioned to hold our tongues. In the time of Grandshaykh (q), all the day and night he had his tasbeeh with him, either reading Holy Qur'an or Dalaa’il al-Khayraat or al-Murdariyya, dhikr or salawaat on the Prophet (s). If a guest came, he gave suhbah anytime in 24 hours. We drove from Beirut and reached Sham by Tahajjud time in two hours. He was sitting and had barmeel, a barrel with an opening on top and a door and we put wood inside and the whole house was smokey and he sat on the bed drinking tea and making dhikrullah. Smoke or no smoke he was not caring, he was very humble, sitting very simply. Then if someone came, even a child, he would open a suhbat and bring knowledge like fountains, not like now, they write and write and people are attracted. This is a wali! To be near a wali it is good in your life to have a wali with you, and if you don’t have a wali with you your matters are not in your hand anymore and you lose. The wali will guide you; Awliyaullah are responsible for their followers and they will guide you to hold your tongue and make your house to contain you, which means don’t go out in fitan or else you will be hurt from this fitna.

So the Prophet (s) is directing us in these days where fitna is everywhere, because Allah (swt) gave you a scale in your body that can measure everything digitally. Awliyaullah can read you, but they correct you if you connect with them; however, if the pipe between you and them is broken it will leak and no information will reach you. You gave your hand, finished, don’t question! You took baya` from Awliyaullah so don’t question. Many people come and say, “I want baya`.” I ask them if they have baya` with another shaykh and they do, so I say to them, “Keep your baya` don’t jump.” Adab between Awliya is that they don’t take others’ mureeds. One person insisted to take baya` so I said, “Okay, but only as tabarakkun, for blessing, not guidance, as I have no permission from my teachers to give baya` on top of someone else’s baya` because that is tark al-adab, not keeping respect to other Awliya, so we have to be very careful as to how we take decisions:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن جَاءكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَأٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَن تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ

O you who believe! If a corrupt person comes to you with something wrong, ascertain the truth unless you harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what you have done.

(Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:6)

We always say that if a corrupt person comes with a story first clarify it, but you have to also know the other meaning: if your ego comes with corruption, be careful and correct it before it corrupts you, because it will take you on different ways that deviate from the Siraat al-Mustaqeem, although you think you are in the correct way, so be very careful.

I will end with `an Muhammad ibn `Ali which means al-Baqir: He said, “We heard that a man will come from this group, al-ithna `ashar, the grandchildren of the Prophet (s) from Sayyida Fatimah, Sayyidna `Ali, Sayyidina al-Hasan and Sayyidina al-Husayn (`alayhimu ‘s-salam), ya`dilu fee hadhihi ’l-ummah to bring justice to Ummat an-Nabi (s).” So he said: inna narju, “We hope what the people hope and even if there is only one day left of dunya, we hope that Allah makes that day long enough for that person to come and take baya` from people and to wait for Sayyidina `Isa (a),” and that is al-Mahdi (a); the name is not mentioned here, but that is the meaning from other Ahadeeth, that before that the worst of confusions will occur.

Today we have the worst of confusions, where the Prophet (s) said, “Judgment Day will not come until a big war will happen,” and this is what is happening: airplanes, airplanes, airplanes are throwing bombs and that is not easy or simple. Every day there are 2,000 sorties and where are these rockets falling? On people! Who made the fitna? We don't completely blame those who are sending the rockets, we have to blame those who made it happen! That is what we have to complain about and blame them (the troublemakers).

Before the Hour comes, there will be a tribulation like patches of dark night. A man will get up a Believer and go to sleep an unbeliever, or will go to sleep a Believer and wake up an unbeliever. The one who sits at that time will be better than one who stands and the one standing will be better than the one walking and the one walking will be better than one running. Break your bows, cut their strings and strike your swords against stones. If someone comes to kill any of you, then be like the better of the two sons of Adam. (Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash`aree, Abu Dawud, ibn Majah)

In that time, in that confusion a man will go to sleep at night a Believer and when he wakes up he is a kafir and one will wake up a Believer and go to bed a kaafir, one of the two, and this is what we are seeing. Who reaches this time must fear Allah and he must stick to his home, keep to your home, run to your home, and what is your home? Run to Allah, fa-firroo ila-Llah!

Run to Allah (from all that is false and evil)! (Surat adh-Dhaariyaat, 51:50)

Don’t think too much, don’t consider things too much, leave it to Allah (swt) and He will solve your problems, people cannot solve their problems, but Allah will solve it. May Allah give us more faith, more imaan and more ihsaan, and teach us the Holy Qur'an to be protected from every evil.

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati’l-habeeb bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

Grandshaykh’s Du`a That Includes All Du`as

When Grandshaykh AbdAllah (q) dictated that du`a and I wrote it, he said it is the kulaasat al-adi`yah, summary of all du`as, wa kull al-adi`yah tasubbu feeha, all du`as are within that du`a, it contains all du`as, as if you put together all the du`as people read, so when you read this it contains everything! This du`a to the end is considered an envelope for all du`as! Awliya give you secrets that are like rockets [accelerate your progress] because they know we are lazy so they give us things we can do. These shortcuts are very important so memorize this du`a.

O our Lord! Make the beginning of this gathering goodness, its middle happiness, and its end success.

O our Lord! Make its beginning mercy, its middle bounty and its ending generosity and forgiveness. All praise be to Allah who humbled everything before His Greatness, made all things subservient before His Honor, brought low all things before His Kingship and made all things submit to His Power. And all praise to Allah who made all things tranquil before His Majesty, and made everything appear through His wisdom, and humbled all things before His Pride. O our Lord! Wake us in the time most beloved to Yourself, O Loving One, O Lord of the Throne of Glory, Doer of all that He intends.

Has the story reached you of the forces of Pharaoh and the Thamud? And yet the unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth), but Allah encompasses them from behind! No, this is a Glorious Qur'an, (inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! (Surat al-Burūj, 85:15-22)

O Allah! Forgive me my sins and my parents’ sins, just as they raised me when I was small, and to all the Believers men and women, and all the Muslims men and women, both the living among them and the dead:

Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not in our hearts rancour against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed Full of Kindness, Most Merciful. (Surat al-Hashr, 59:10) O Most Merciful of those who show mercy!

O Allah! Make our affairs easy, and pay off our debts and relieve our distress and allay our concerns and make steadfast our feet and give victory over ourselves and on the unbelieving enemies within!
