Celebrate the praises of Allah at the sacred monument. (Surat al-Baqara, 2:198)

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illa-Llaah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillaahi ‘l-hamd!

Subhaana khaaliqi 'l-nufoosi wa 'l-anfaas, wa khaashif al-humoomi wa 'l-ghumoom wa 'l-waswaas, alladhee ja`alal ka`abat al-bayt al-haraam, qiyaaman li ‘n-naas. wa-nashhadu an laa ilaha illa ’Lllahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa laa nazheera lahu, wa laa matheela lahu wa laa munaawiy’a lah, fee `uloowwi shaanihi wa `azheemi sultaanih, shaahadatan ka shahaadati 'l-saa’imeena fee hadhihi 'l-ayyaami wa 'l-azmaan. wa nashhadu anna sayyidana wa mawlaana muhammadan `abduhu wa habeebuhu wa rasoolahu ka shahaadati 'l-musalleena `alaa rasooli 'l-Maliki 'l-Mannaan. sall’Allahu ta`ala `alayhi wa `alaa aalihi wa awlaadihi wa azwaajihi wa as-haabihi wa atba`ihi wa dhuriyyatih, wa khulafaa’ihi 'l-mahdiyyina min ba`dih, wa wuzaraa’ihi al-`aamileena fee `ahdih, khusoosan minhum `alaa 'l-a’immata khulafaa’i rasoolillaahi `alaa 't-tahqeeq, umaraa’i 'l-mu’mineen, hadaraati abee bakrin wa `umara wa `uthmaana wa `aliyy, dhawi 'l-qadri 'l-jalee, wa `alaa baqiyyati 's-sahaabata wa 't-taabi`een, ridwaan Allahi ta`ala `alayhim ajma`een. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illa-Llaah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillaahi ‘l-hamd!

Ayyuha ’l-ukhwa shaa’ Allahu an yajma`a 'n-naasa kullahim bi fardin, fareedati 'l-hajji `alaa 'l-imaani wa 't-taqwaa. fa hunaaka qad tarakoo awlaadahum wa dhaweehim wa amwaalahum wa azwaajahum wa bilaadhum wa jaa’oo min kulli makaan, `ala ikhtilaafi alwaanihim wa ajnaasihim wa lahjaatihim wa alsinatihim, yada`oona rabbahum, rabban waahidan, fa yajtami`oona, wa yuhalliloona wa yukabbiroona fee ardin wa ta’hta qadamaa rasoolillahi (s)!

O Believers, mu’mins! This is `Eid al-Adha and the significance of it is that Allah (swt) has ordered His Prophet for pilgrimage, for Hajj and it is one of the five Pillars of Islam for every Muslim to fulfill at least one time in his life, to go and visit leaving behind his family, children, partners, business and walk toward that aim, which is to reach where Prophet (s) has put his foot, has put his feet, where Prophet (s) has walked, where Prophet (s) has passed through the deserts, where Prophet (s) left his lovely place, Allah’s House, Ka`abatullah, and moved toward Madina al-Munawwara, `alaa saakinihaa afdalu ‘l-saalatu wa 'l-salaam, to establish the first Muslim country, to establish imaan, to establish the faith of Muslims! Muslims are like jewels, Muslims are like emeralds, Muslims are like rubies, Muslims are gems, Muslims deserve paradises! May Allah (swt) grant us these Manifestations that he granted the Sahaabah of Prophet (s), and grant us from what He gave to Prophet (s), to at least give us one drop of the Ocean of Prophet (s)!

O Believers! We are in a time that everything is becoming easy and difficult: easy in transportation, difficult in politics. And that’s why, O Muslims! Run away from politics, keep only Islam in your hearts, keep only imaan in your heart.

Today is the day that people are celebrating after they went to `Arafat, all in one voice, three million pilgrims as by their estimate, but in reality it is at least six million. Officials announced recently that one million came without permits and they allowed them to enter, so it is four million, but we know they are at least six million! And around the world in the same time everyone is saying, “Labbayk allahumma labbayk! Labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk. Inna ‘l-hamda wa 'n-ni`mata laka wa 'l-mulk, laa shareeka lak.” Labbayk means, “O Allah! We are listening to Your order, we are coming to You to satisfy You, to make You happy! Everything we took from this dunya we are putting aside, only covering ourselves with two sheets of towels and coming to You with no stitching on these towels, only to show our allegiance to Your Prophet (s) and Your deen!”

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

Verily, those who swear allegiance to you (Muhammad) swear allegiance only to Allah. The Hand of Allah is above their hands, so whoever breaks his oath does so only to his soul's injury, while whoever keeps his covenant with Allah, on him will He bestow immense reward. (Surat al-Fath, 48:10)

O Muslims! Allah is saying to those ten Sahaabis (r) who asked Prophet (s) to give them baya`, who pledged their allegiance, and that ayah came, “Yaa Muhammad! Those who are giving you allegiance to Islam, it’s really to Allah (swt): innal 'l-dheena yubaayi`oonaka innamaa yubaayi`oonAllah, Whenever they give you their hands in allegiance to Islam, it is for Allah (swt).”

And every Muslim around the world has given his allegiance before when he was young, the first time he said, ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah’, as Prophet (s) said:

من قال لا اله الا الله دخل الجنة

Whoever says ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah’ enters Paradise. (Tabarani, Kabir 7:55)

Anyone that says, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah” will enter Paradise for sure, even if he has sins Allah will forgive him with the shafa`a of Sayyidna Muhammad alayhi afdalu 'l-salaatu wa ‘s-salaam.

They came from everywhere around the world, they came with different colors on their faces and on their bodies--the white people, the yellow people, the people who are from africa, people who are from Far East, people from Far West, people from the Middle East--all of them coming in one dress, saying, "Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah”. They assemble in one place and Allah made that place big, so as much as you send more, Allah makes it bigger!

As Prophet (s) said, Allah can make this dunya pass through the eye of the needle without making the needle big and without making the dunya small, only by saying “‘Kun! fa yakoon”, so don't underestimate The Creator, don't underestimate His love to His servants, those who say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llaah”!

The best remembrance of Allah is to say,“There is no god but Allah.” (Tirmidhi)

And Prophet (s) said to the Sahaabah (r):

إذا مررتم برياض الجنة فارتعوا، قالوا: وما رياض الجنة؟ قال: حلق الذكر.

(O my Companions!) If you find the Heavenly Gardens on earth, stay there and sit in it and be in it. They asked, “What are these riyaadu ‘l-Jannah that we must run to?” He said, "Associations of dhikrullah."

This is a circle of dhikrullah and every place where there is a circle of dhikrullah, sit. and that’s why Prophet (s) said, afdalu 'dh-dhikri, the best of remembrance, is to say Kalimat al-Tawheed, ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llaah’. And in a Holy Hadith (Qudsi), Allah (swt) ordered his Prophet (s) to say to the Muslims, to the mu’mins, and to the whole world, non-Muslims even, and non-mu’min:

أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي

Anaa jaleesu man dhakaranee.

I sit with him who remembers Me. (Ahmad, Bayhaqi)

If we remember Allah (swt) as Muslims, Allah is happy and if non-Muslims mention "Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah" with belief, they become Muslims and Allah takes all their sins away! That’s why we appreciate every convert that came to Islam and we condone that they accepted Islam. Allah (swt) gave them a reward by erasing all their sins of whatever they have done, and for us who are born Muslim, anything (bad) we did was written and to erase it is to say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llaah,” as “Whoever says ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah’ enters Paradise.” Of course we add “Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah”, as to say laa ilaaha illa-Llaah alone without “Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah” you are not a Muslim. when you say “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah” you are confirming your imaan in Allah, The Creator and Sayyidina Muhammad as the Messenger of Allah, that Prophet (s) is the sincere servant whom Allah brought to the maqaam of Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa!

Afdalu 'l-jihad kalimatu `adlin `inda sultaanin jaa'ir (in another version, aw kalimat al-haqq).

The best jihad is a word of justice (or a word of truth) before a tyrannical king.

(Narrated Abu Sa`eed al-Khudree, Abu Dawud)

The Sahaabah (r) asked Prophet (s), yaa rasoolullahu, maa huwa afdalu l imaan? maa huwa afdalu l-jihad? qaala rasoolullahi sas afdalu 'l-jihad kalimatu haqq, Prophet (s) said to his as-haab, “The best of jihad is not to go and kill others, the best of jihad is to say the word of truth.” Say it first to yourself; you must think, “Am I on the right way or am I on the wrong way? Am I listening to what Allah is obliging me to do or am I listening to what my ego is saying?” That’s why Prophet (s) wanted to perfect us, as he said:

‏انما بعثت لاتمم مكارم الاخلاق

Innamaa bu`ithtu li utammimu makaarim al-akhlaaq.

I have been sent to perfect the best of conduct (your behavior and character). (Bazzaar)

“I have been sent to perfect the manners of the Believers of Allah (swt).” Makaarim al-akhlaaq means the Station of Moral Excellence: “I have been sent to fix that.” So Islam teach us how to perfect ourselves. when one Sahaabi (r) asked Prophet (s) and he said:

رجعنا من الجهاد الاصغر الى الجهاد الاكبر

Raji`naa min al-jihaad al-asghar ila ’l-jihaad al-akbar.

“We came back from the smaller jihad to the greater one." (al-Bayhaqi)

They asked, "What is that, O Rasoolullah?" He said, "The battle of the ego.We returned from the smaller jihad to the greater jihad.” Afdalu 'l-jihad, not the jihad of war, but rather the jihad of fighting the self. That is why Prophet (s) told the Sahaabah (r), “We are returning from the small jihad, the jihad of fighting the enemies when they declared war against Prophet (s), to the jihad of fighting the self, the ego, to fight that nafs Allah (swt) has mentioned:

فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا

Fa alhamahaa fujoorahaa wa taqwaahaa.

He inspired the self of its good and its bad. (Surat ash-Shams, 91:8)

So it means everyone according to the capacity of his mind and intelligence, and the love in his heart, knows what is good and what is bad. Don't do more than what you know, because if you don't know more, at least do what you know, don't simply say, “I don't know how to read Qur'an , so why I have to open the Qur'an ?” No, don't make the Qur'an your enemy in the Day of Judgment, make it intercede for you on that Day! It is Allah’s Ancient Words, not human being’s words, so you have to be proud when you open the Qur'an and the heavenly Light comes from every letter of the Holy Qur'an to your heart , to guide you to the real path, to the real imaan. So those who don’t know how to read the Qur’an, open it, look at the verses, look at the commentary, and in this way you are looking at the Arabic Words of Allah (swt) and that Light which emits from it, everyone can take a certain Light that is coming specifically to him. So don't believe when they tell you that there is no Light in every letter of Holy Qur’an, because there is Light in every letter as it is Allah’s Ancient Words, which are not created, no one authored them, no one wrote it! That’s how they can explain it in commentary, tafseer: Allah’s Ancient Words are not created, like Allah’s Noor is not created, it is there existing with Allah’s Existence under the Name of Allah (swt), al-ism al-jaami` li 'l-asmaa’i wa 's-siffaat, the Beautiful Name that encompasses all of Allah’s Attributes!

So through that Name we know about our Lord, Allah (swt), and there is noor when you say, “Allah”; in every letter of it there is noor, because if you take the Alif out from “Allah” it becomes lillah; with the Alif it is “The Creator” but take away the Alif and it becomes lillah, which means “to Allah.” He is The One to Whom Belongs All Things. Every letter has a meaning, so it changes the meaning. If you take away one Laam it becomes lahu, “to Him” and every Creation is to Him! Then if you take that Laam out it becomes Haa at the end, Hu, The Absolute Unknown: no one can know Allah (swt) and no one can see Him; this dunya cannot carry it. That’s why He (swt) said “Allah can be seen in paradises.”

May Allah (swt) keep us under the baraka and blessings of Prophet (s) in order that on the Day of Judgment he will intercede for us!

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-'Ahzaab, 33:56)

Allahumma salli `alaa sayyidina muhammadin al-naahee ummatahu `an daari ’l-jaheem, wa-afkhar al-`arabi wa 'l-`ajam, mawlaanaa wa mawla 'l-`aalamayn al-muhtaramayn sayyidina abi ’l-qaasimi muhammad. yaa ayyulla 'l-mushtaaqoona noora jamaalihi wa 'l-muhtaajoona shafaa`atahu, salloo `alayh. salloo `alayhi wa sallimoo tasleemaa.

Rabbanaa, make every day `Eid for Muslims with Your rewards and Your kindness and Your noor! Dress us with that noor, yaa Rabbanaa, yaa Allah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illa-Llaah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillaahi ‘l-hamd! Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illa-Llaah.
